Yeah, did you read VI-C, twitter, facebook etc discussions around "the tweet"? Lots of weird. Even the content/speculation this thread lseems more appropriate for a creepy tv series "shipping" fansite than one related to companies selling professional products.

They just released a cut down version of one of their flagship string libraries. BBC piano is less tham 6 momths old and had both expensive and affordable versions. They still offer a ton of free content. Indont undersrand why people thing they need MOAR free/basic content when they already offer everything anybody would ever need to score for free and/or with $30 libraries. It's not like BBC Core or Originals Strings or Labs Felt Piano are "outdated" and need to be replaced with other free/cutprice products.

You're absolutely right, none of their content is outdated. When I was 15/16 years old and I'd first started to write music in a DAW, I'd have loved the kind of opportunities SF offer with these "pocket money" libraries. I'm just hoping it stays that way. Prices have already creeped up on other libraries. It would be a shame if the £29 Originals libraries became, lets say, £59 or even £99 libraries - which they could easily charge for the kind of quality they are if they wanted to.

Definitely.... Although if you watch the video I linked Been Jordan more or less says the same thing. (He did a ton of research before making the video)... Although what he does mention is vague, and bookends a segment ultimately about the history of NI's buyout... It's fascinating if you haven't already seen it...

Why would you trust anything that Benn Jordan says? He's basically a forum opinion aggregating YouTuber. A far as I can see, his musical career was short and peaked well over a decade ago and geographically and professionally he would have had little or no contact to anybody involved in any of the companies he talks about in that video. It seems like a long forum speculation post that he turned into a YouTube video. He provides zero information that isn't readily available and just interjects a bunch of speculation that confirms a certain kind of forum groupthink. Standard Youtuber stuff.
And yet he was bang on about Moog, Curiosity Stream & Nebula.
Oh, and Spotify too.

I have spent some time with him and I do feel he is very well read and values research. He does reach out to people who work at the companies and I feel he has some journalistic integrity. Some of his videos had years of work put into them. That's the long game.
It is good to see someone adding something more than the usual product review or tutorial in the space
He is a great musician and I feel his avoidance of flying may be part of why he pivoted career wise.

For my one, personal post on the topic:
It's one thing to voice misgivings you have about policy regarding complicated topics, especially when they hit close to home. People do not always express themselves perfectly, and in the headline-only culture of today's media I think it's preferable to allow for some grace.
It is an entirely different thing to voice loud support for celebrities who are attempting to eradicate the rights of a certain group of people. And then, when given multiple opportunities to clarify, essentially doubled down by saying nothing.
I truly try to refrain from political argument here and everywhere else online, but when a place I frequent so much seems to be pulling in the opposite direction it feels like I have to take the opportunity. What kills me is that it would be so easy for CH to come out of this completely fine and yet seemingly has refused the option.

He predicted layoffs at a company that had recently been acquired by a much larger company. Was this a revelation? And what did he predict about Spotify? That it was a dying company that doesn't pay musicians enough compared to Bandcamp based on one specific dataset (his album)?

To get back to the subject rather than what somebody earlier described as "weird" talk. In summary, to this point then, Spitfire has:
- Undergone some leadership changes that have not been widely communicated
- Begun a truly massive product creation that will perhaps mostly appeal to high-end professionals
- lost the services of the biggest influencer in the space who was bringing young and amateur customers through the door.
- potentially lost parts of its business due to financial constraints (according to the glassdoor post) and this does seem to be reflected in the slow down of LABS releases at least
- potentially decided to prepare itself for sale to a PE outfit who may refocus on cost savings and the EBITDA (according to Benn Jordan)
- to trade in the same horrible economy that everyone else is experiencing

He was also one of the 3 you tubers ( Red means recording , him and venus theory ) who " exposed " Christian for having an opinion that most people share but that a very vocal minority does not tolerate .

Touching on that briefly, if I recall, LABS was handed over almost entirely to Christian (remember the tattoo?) so that would easily explain the lack of LABS.

Unsuccessful entrepreneurs hear the same thing btw, making up 99% of Start-Ups in the world.
But I'd say, with the public following and experience he has, it'd be embarrassing if he doesn't at least get by okay
