I can't see the video right now (I am abroad in China - so YT is blocked). But: what mics from SStB were used here?

I am asking because for the Horns a4, the T2 mic (and also Mic Mix 2) has a reversed stereo image in the top dynamic layer of the longs and legato patch. I have contacted Spitfire Support a long time ago about this but as far as I understand, it was never fixed.

I’m pretty sure he used only the Close mic’s in SStB; as was the case with all the other instruments used.

Thank you for the quick response!

They should still solve the issue with SStB, btw. It's very easy to fix in Kontakt (for the longs at least) but the legatos are locked ...
 
Did anyone try this to add Outrigger mics to some thing that was recording in Air that doesn't have them? Like Spitfire's orchestral percussion, for example.

Hey! Blackhole has made everything I write sound out of this world. How is it you think Air Reverb won't make it sound like Hans Zimmer wrote it????**

And yes, I will eventually get it when it goes on sale and a bunch of people who actually know what they are doing have tested it out and made YouTube videos on it. Because I love reverbs. And Air. :grin:

Damn! These sound great. Anyone care to demo Berlin Strings or anything from Teldex into this?

Could a 'cut-down' demo version be on the cards?

I have buses per stem. Realistically, I'd need to be very certain about loading times and CPU usage before putting this across a template, and dropping so much money.

If anyone here uses altiverb, and has pulled the trigger, how are you finding this?

I have had Altiverb for some time and use it a lot. Obviously Altiverb offers a very wide range of "venues". It's excellent but doesn't offer the same flexibility and "tuneability" that the SA Air plugin does. I've only had a few hours playing with Air but I don't regret getting it. I would say its no harder on CPU than Altiverb and my Mac Studio with 64GB doesn't notice it at all.

I saw a comparison between Berlin Series & Dry Instruments with Samplicity's Berlin Studio reverb. The OT's instruments recorded is Teldex sounds so much better, even with a lot of tweaking [which is a lot] the dry instruments with the plugin didn't sound as good as the OT's stuff.

I guess it's a plugin problem. Now, I know bigger doesn't mean better [developers might know better] but Berlin Studio is 500 mb & AIR is 10 gigs. I guess there's some difference when the size is 20x.

The Berlin Brass has the best tone & texture out of all Virtual & even some real stuff I've heard. The trumpets are just majestic. But, I'd love to hear them with the AIR plugin.

I'm of the same opinion. I think you can get a more sumptuous sound with Air Studios

I have a question as I am still a noob at this, but I have Seven Heaven and Cinematic Rooms as Reverb. I only use CSS and I am tempted by this.


I usually place a combo of both reverbs and place it on its own MixFx Reverb Bus in Studio One. Then I send all my instruments to this bus as sends. So I only technically load one reverb and blend each track or bus level to that Reverb MixFX (Insert on the MixFx).

I understand that the advantage of this reverb is you can place the instrument in the exact location in the room. I think this means the model does not work setting it up like I am on one Reverb bus and with multiple sends per instrument.

It sounds like I would need to have a reverb in each insert for each instrument, thus multiple instances of Air Reverb per instrument for full orchestra?

Hope I asked this clear enough as I would love to try this with CSS as I also own OACE etc but if its truly at 10% CPU per instance I will not be able to load multiple instances of this Reverb...

Appreciate your help
