AIR Studios Reverb Discussion Thread

I think Berlin Studio it’s so good because it was implemented very well with high-quality, but not actually because it’s Teldex specifically.

So here’s hoping Spitfire has a great implementation!
And a decent manual, and hopefully some tutorials to come. The biggest drawback of Berlin Studio is that it has neither a manual nor tutorials, nor even a developer walkthrough.
 
It's showing as $195 for me (EDU on top of intro price), but once into the shopping cart it's actually EDU only ($279)
Mine charged at $195. One reason I bought immediately was I was concerned it was a pricing error, since they don't usually stack EDU discounts on intro pricing. So maybe they are in the process of taking it away.
 
Holy shit. Have been wanting this for a long time for close mic / dry libraries to blend with Spitfire libraries. We finally get to apply that room to any sound we own. With Berlin Studio and this, we now have the 2 best room acoustics covered. Now to try and explain this purchase to my wife in a way that doesn't sound insane. "Honey, I can make my recorded pencil tap sound like it was recorded in a big hall that used to be a church in london!" "Ummmm okay???"
 
Can anyone post some examples of Sample Modeling and Audio Modeling instruments being put through this reverb? Would be lovely to make the dry samples sound like SF's Symphony Orchestra Series.

Also, are there presets for every instruments (1st, 2nd Violins, Bassoons, Trumpets, etc...)?

Will disabling certain mic positions result in less processing power required?
 
The more mics you load the more CPU - effectively this is a true stereo to multiple true stereo reverbs.
So if I load 8 instances of the plugin in with one mic position only, it would spend as much (or as little) CPU as having one instance with all 8 mics turned on? Just checking to plan how to build a tamplate arround it.

Thats a good question! I'm not 100% sure because you'd have a small overhead from the individual instances. I can look into this tomorrow. One of our team just mentioned he had 33 instances running all 8 mics on a test session! We can do some proper stress tests next week.
 
So what is the best use case here? Separate instance for every instrument? Every section? (Strings, brass, woodwinds etc), or all of it just feeding one bus?

I'd love if you could post the results. I currently use Berlin Studio with Sample and Audio Modeling instruments. I currently have three instances of BS for each instrument section (horns for example), each with a different mic position. I then link each mic with the same mic from the same family (horns decca tree with rest of the brass decca trees in this example) and have a quick way of adjusting the balance of all mics in my DAW. It works flawlessly and doesn't impact my computer at all, even though I have tons of plugin instances.

My plan is to build a similar template with AIR Reverb for when I need a different sound for a project. It would be good to know how much of a load the CPU takes. I'm hoping/guessing it won't be much of a difference.
