What libraries would you recommend to create music in the style of Elden Ring, Dark Souls 3 and Demon's Souls Remake?

Dang, those are great. As a big Soulsborne fanboy I had to reply here ;)

    Favorite mono synth

Yeah but it's not that bad tbh. Once you've got your head around it you're really quick setting up patches since it's a really basic synth. If I had found some really cool patch that I wanted to keep I made a picture. Super oldschool but works.

    Favorite mono synth

The Behringer Poly D is really good bang for your back in regards of mono synths.

Elden Ring OST - Godskin Apostle Theme Recreated By Ear

Very well done! This game has actually trashed my plans to make music basically since its release ^^

Progenies of the Great Apocalypse (Dimmu Borgir Cover Mockup)

Haha yeah I found that one when I was looking for a conductor's score. Woodwinds definitely need more work. There are a few here and there (e.g. some piccolos at 0:27 taking care of the high voice of the brass chords at the end) and some others doubling stuff but I'm definitely missing a lot...

Progenies of the Great Apocalypse (Dimmu Borgir Cover Mockup)

Hi all! I'm currently re-organizing my template (which is mainly for my metal project which means it's not a typical orchestra only template) and thought that I finally need to have a go at doing a mockup of something already existing. Everybody talks about how great it is for learning to try...

LOTR Rings of Power - Soundtrack Discussion Thread

To be fair it wasn't really Jackson's fault if you dig a bit into the story. He wasn't suppost to direct those movies but he had to jump into because Del Toro left and there was almost no pre-production made whereas with LOTR he had years of pre-production. As for the Amazon series: I have a...

    String FX recommendation

Sorry to dig this old thread up but I was searching for exactly the same as @holywilly and that @thesteelydane lib sounds brilliant! If it came out earlier I wouldn't have been surprised if Ben Frost actually used that one. I mean, that just sounds spot on (at 2:48):

    Instrumental Symphonic Metal!

No, I'm happily independent ;) Besides that, instrumental symphonic metal is probably way too niché anyway.

    Instrumental Symphonic Metal!

That's great to hear! I love their longer, more complex song structures, especially on the pre-prog-rock albums, so that certainly had an impact on me.

    Instrumental Symphonic Metal!

It's certainly one of the best compliments you can make, I'm a big Opeth fan. I was unsure about some of the acoustic guitar parts in some of the tracks from time to time because they scream Opeth pretty loud. But yeah, do some finger picked Minor add9 chords and it probably sounds like Opeth in...

    Instrumental Symphonic Metal!

Thanks! Yeah the riser thingy...well, it's a bit hardcore trailer cliché I guess but I decided to leave it in anway :D

    Instrumental Symphonic Metal!

The full album is out now: I also uploaded an orchestra only playlist for it so you can listen to it without the metal around it :D

    Instrumental Symphonic Metal!

Now, this might be something a little bit different to the other posts here but I think I dare to post it: Nahtram is my instrumental orchestral/symphonic metal project I'm doing in my free time. Since the main part of it is metal the orchestrations might be a bit different from other...

    Progressive Rock & Metal

For Mellotron I also like the Mellotoon for EZKeys, but that one's not free. I really like the sounds though. Gives me those Opeth vibes :D

    Progressive Rock & Metal

Oh I didn't realize there was a metal thread :) The main reason why I got into all the orchestral composing stuff was basically because I wanted to do some symphonic metal stuff but more in a soundtrack way and not so much your typical Nightwish/Epica stuff (what most people think of if you...

    TENET

Haha I thought the whole time "damn that synth rhythm reminds me of Meshuggah's Bleed". Seems like I wasn't wrong about it :D

Midi mockup - "Hedwig's Theme" by John Williams

That sounds very well done to me. (and damn I love that score) I would also be interested in NoamL's notes.

    Kontakt 6 on Cubase 10

Regarding CPU Load, have you enabled ASIO Guard? Mentioned in the middle of the video. It's an essential feature for me as well.

    Cubase 10.5

The project from which I'm importing has about 500 instrument tracks with Kontakt, most of them disabled though. It worked with C10, so I guess it has to do with the enhancements.

    Orchestral Tools NKS offer 2019

Gnaaah, I couldn't resist and actually bought the Ark 3+4 as well as the Ark 2 (already have 1). Bloody GAS. I hate it when I buy such big libraries because I feel the urge to add them to my template. Not all patches of course but the ones I might find useful and that's still a lot of tracks...

DAW building companies, is it worth it?

Pretty much this, yes. Of course that might depend on the competence of the builder but those are the main benefits. I bought my new workstation at the beginning of this year from such a builder and I'm really happy with it. He only uses components that work together well and have been tested...

    Vgm (video game music)

My favourite is the one from Witcher 3 (with both Add-Ons). It just fits so well to the atmospheres and the melodies are awesome (for example the Kaer Morhen theme)

    Symphonic Heavy Metal

I'm still pretty new to this board and I'm amazed that there are even (ex-) members of Turisas here :D I think it's great. I'm not that into that kind of vocals but it sounds awesome. Great production as well!

    Cheers from South Germany

Hey there I'm a guitar player from south germany. I'm actually mainly a metal guy (but not exclusively) and I love orchestral music, that's the reason why my instrumental one-man band is some kind of symphonic/orchestral melodic metal (or whatever stupid genre name you'd like to give it). Over...

Orchestral Tools - SINE Player - new update available—version 1.0.5

This. In the past I used rack instruments and midi tracks but for several reasons I switched to using only instrument tracks. It's way more convenient for me and the only disadvantage are larger cubase project files and longer save times but I can live with that. In fact a lot of the composers...
