Maleventum - War Horns - DEAL EXTENDED:33% Off + 50% Off other libraries

My mini review...

This library is the real deal. Massive sounds, the likes of which I'd never heard before. Way more usability than just the "war horn" spec on the box. Really solid sound design. Some odd patch categorisation.

In summary: Don't hesitate.

Thanks a lot!

Yeah I haven't even loaded any of the instruments in my DAW and and already just the sounds that come separately are worth the price for sure. Same deal with Stringache, I got that one on the 50% off. I look forward to getting Pain Piano or whatever it was called eventually

Thanks a lot, really glad to hear that :)

Congratulations, this library have great and huge sounds. Beautiful soundesign ! Just one thing, in the Maleventum_Horn Pads instrument, in the Edit screen, the direction of the second volume env release slider (in red) is reversed compared to the others.

Hey man, thanks so much! You're right , I've just checked the textures release slider of layer T2, it increases/decreases with the vertical movement of the mouse, instead of horizontal. Thanks a lot for bringing this to my attention, I'll fix it soon! :)

Introducing MALEVENTUM - Epic Horns Stabs & Pads - Kontakt library

INTRO DEAL: 39 $/€ + 50% OFF ANYTHING (ends October 31st)
https://silenceandothersounds.com/products/maleventum

TRAILER:

Maleventum is a Kontakt library inspired by medieval and Viking horns. We have committed to a deep research in the cinematic sound of epic war horns from ancient nordic and celtic cultures, from the carnyx to gjallahorn and bukkehorn (goat horn). We’ve recorded a huge amount of original medieval horn instruments, classical orchestral trombone and tuba, traditional flutes, horn instruments from the pastoral tradition across Europe and even self built blowing horns and pipes. All of them have been processed and layered to create a collection of epic braams, hunt horn calls, war horns, low tone brass sounds, high pitched screaming trumpets, animal-esque wailing sounds and much else.

Maleventum is composed of 2 different instruments:
– a playable, MPE compatible Kontakt instrument with over 100 snapshots and 58 MPE Multis, that combines up to 4 layers of horns, flutes and rare bagpipe sounds and textures. The Horns & Flutes instrument really shines when creating evoking, mystical and intimate tonal textures.
If you own a Roli Seaboard, Maleventum has been scripted to create evolving, rich hybrid pads by blending the layers and simultaneously controlling a vast amount of parameters at your fingertips. Maleventum can be also used in standard MIDI and it’s compatible with any midi controller.
– a Kontakt sampler of 260+ one-shots sounds (.WAV 96 kHz 24 bit) based on epic cinematic horns, tuned braams, war horns, viking horn calls, nordic hunt horns, dissonant trumpets, creature-reminiscent eerie horn tones, loud aggressive stabs, brass staccatos, long evocative tones, battle horn calls. With the intuitive GUI, you can individually manipulate each sample, combine multiple sounds and obtain your own bombastic war horn stabs and viking braams.

So these are basically meant as one shots, right? Not like playable instruments.
And can you turn off the reverb? It's all drowned now. Would be interesting to hear these dry.

The library have one shots sounds and playable instruments (two differents Kontakt files). There is 100 snapshots in the pads intruments (+58 multi if you have a roli seabord). You can check some playable instruments in the Don's Bodin review. And you can turn off the reverb.

Hi, you have two separate Kontakt instruments, a one shot and a playable one. You can turn off reverb in both modules (there's a convolution reverb module), although some of the sounds in the SFX module have been recorded with some natural reverb and others with a more dry signal, according with the kind of instrument.

Have to say that this library instantly self collocated in the "here's something I would use" category after a fraction of the video. Very nice.

Just got it, I think it is truly amazing...
The only thing I would have liked, and I didn't manage, is to be able to strip the sound design aspect a bit in order to get to the more raw sound, but I don't seem to find the way, if there is one? Also I find my self always disabling the low kick boom which comes on on default on each note... It sounds great, but becomes a bit too much in context (for my use). In a more natural orchestral score use it could be great to be able to control the balance between raw horns and FX.
Really well done, the sounds are excellent and inspiring, very bene-ventum! :)
