It is good sounding and simple. I just am done with UAD, posting their deals. I buy it, and a few months later it is free. That was a fast devaluing for a new product. Screw them and their spam emails.

This wasn't UAD giving out free products. The code posted was part of a deal where you get a Loopcloud subscription with free Polymax license. That's where the code was from.

Because the code you entered was unique and leaked ( which could lead to an end to this give-away), you would get it with the subcription.

I did the free loopcloud trial at the start of the promo, my "robbery" was legit :)
I will probably do the free trial just because I feel guilty now.

I don’t want to be in court sayin’, “but your honor I didn’t know I was suppose to get the free trial”

I did so too! Legal theft then.

I wouldn't feel too guilty! How many times has Loopcloud done this? I think last time it was Eventide Quadravox?

I tried it when they offered it for free, but I honestly thought it sounded too thin. I wish UAD would make other emulations like their minimoog, which sounds really good.

It sounds like an analog synth - more than most.

Thankfully, not all analog synths sound like a minimoog, as then there’s not much sonic room for anything else. It’s more Roland style than Moog, for the better.

One of the first songs with a synth bass and a funk anthem if there ever was one!

Obligatory reply post:

Funk on brother

Edit: Herbie’s band had a mean clarinet player too!

I'm glad I was reminded of this thread tonight because this is some HARD FUNK right here! Love it.

Yeah I too like the sound of this synth. It's all sweet spot. It take me to all these Jupiter or Juno places without breaking a sweat. And yes, it's no Memorymoog for sure. If somebody is looking for an American Polysynth in the grand style I can't think of one off-hand. Maybe the prophet emulations from UAD, Softube and U-He?

Anyway this is quite lovely for what it does.

Repro5 and OB-E are the American classic analog polys.

(Moog made a couple polys, like the Polymoog and Memorymoog, but aren't really known as well for them)
