Hi there,
If you are using standard FireWire cables for your MOTU 424 card, I came across a suggestion that has improved stability.
"Regular" FireWire cables do work, but their tips that you insert into the 424 card itself have more plastic /less of a contact than do the original "Audiowire" cables that come with the card.
So if you are using FireWire cables, trim about 4-5 millimeters off the plastic so it can insert further into the 424 card. It helps with audio system interruptions and makes life smoother.
Kind regards,
John
