Lead Developer
Impact Soundworks is pleased to announce the release of Special Reserves: Nashville Banjo, a realistic, highly detailed banjo perfect for country, bluegrass, and more. Like all Special Reserves, it offers a streamlined interface, affordable price, and Kontakt Player compatibility!

Special Reserves: Nashville Banjo is a production-ready solo instrument that gives you the varied sound and musicality of a live player. Easily switch between bold, twangy playing or tighter picking parts; choose between two hand positions for a different sound; add the fifth (drone) string for a traditional bluegrass feel.

STUNNING REALISM AND AUTHENTICITY
  • Authentic bluegrass performance: Features a performer who won Banjo Player of the Year from the International Bluegrass Music Association.
  • Impeccable realism and variation: We've sampled this instrument meticulously to ensure you're never stuck with the "machine gun effect" — we even added an extra set of round robins for rapid playing!
  • Includes fifth (drone) string: A unique component of traditional bluegrass-style banjo playing, the drone string provides harmony and can be controlled separately.
  • From twangy to tight: Simple controls make it easy to dial in the performance you want, with as much or as little realistic noise (plucks, releases) as you choose.
  • Production-ready sound out-of-the-box: No special mixing, EQ, or reverb required. This is the ideal studio banjo tone, right out of the box.
Whether you’re creating country or bluegrass tracks, or simply want to bring the distinctive sound of roots music to your video game scores or pop productions, Special Reserves: Nashville Banjo is a realistic, authentic virtual banjo instrument at an affordable price.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
Special Reserves: Nashville Banjo is available now for $39 and is compatible with the free Kontakt Player 7.8 or higher.

This sounds great. I don't really have a need for a banjo but if I did I'd grab this in a heartbeat...might do so anyway at some point. Sounds like an outstanding value.

For this library, we wanted to focus on extremely easy playability and UI simplicity. Just load and play, no need to worry about anything else. We could then give it a really affordable price to match.

If there's enough demand for a Rosette series banjo (that uses the Shreddage engine), we could do that with more articulations, the full fretting engine etc, at a more premium price.

@Andrew Aversa - What do the purple keys do at the top of the keyboard? I don't think you covered those in the walkthrough, and I am having issues downloading the manual from your site.

A banjo with that type of depth isn't easy to find outside maybe VSLville last I checked, would totally be down for that.

It could be a great alternative to Orange Tree Samples Banjo, which I don't own, but since it has legato, slides, mutes, etc., I'll probably get that.

On the other hand I really liked what I'd seen in the Nashville Banjo video, like including the two hand positions. 👍

Knowing Impact Soundworks, buying this wouldn't be a bad idea since there'd totally be a nice discount on the Rosette Banjo. :)
