SampleOddity releases Monster Cookie Tins [percussion library]

I have spent a considerable amount of time banging on cookie tins of various shapes and sizes. It is unclear what this says about the state of my mental health, but at least I recorded it so you can enjoy this library! You may be surprised at how nice a bunch of decorative tin cans can sound. I was. They have a sort of exotic character to them that will add a unique flavor to your sonic palette.

I was going to sample some of the cookie crumbs in the tins, but... I ate them before I tried it. I will have to acquire more (full) cookie tins before I can attempt this again. Such an effort is in progress. For now, though, I present Monster Cookie Tins in action:

That's really lovely!

Bang on ('scuse pun) for current project - on my way to the website...

....wait, did you say no cookies left inside? That might be a deal breaker..

Seriously that's beautiful and unusual..

Thanks, Barrie! I'm glad you can get some use out of them right away.

I'm hoping to find more tins, actually, so I can assemble a xylophone-esque range of them. I have four different tall cylindrical ones (two I have yet to record) but they seem to come in a fairly standard set of sizes. Maybe there is a cannery out there that could make some custom ones for me. Or I should just scour flea markets and garage sales in search of more elusive shapes.

Thanks, Miguel. I'm glad you are enjoying the library! I definitely will be sampling more ridiculous, weird, and/or unusual stuff in the future.

One of the things that I am most happy with about this release, other than the fact that it is cool to make music with cookie tins, is that I finally just changed the banner ad I was running here. Even I got sick of seeing the old Epic Laundry one all the time.
