Metagrid setup issue in Cubase 9: no midi input/out appearing

I am on win 7 64 bit. with cubase 9.5

installed metaserver and its running.
got Metagrid up on my ipad connected via wifi (USB option too)
if I click away from cubase, the ipad screen changes so I know there is connection to the program from metagrid on the ipad.

I go to cubase, add generic remote
click on import then import the metasystem.xml as provided
and it imports fine, but this is where my problem shows up.

it isnt listing it in the Midi input /output section.

what am I doing wrong?

found answer. I needed to install LoopMidi, its in the manual for metagrid, but not the install video.

I think midiports are set up in loopmidi which is a separate download from the metaserver. Have you installed loopmidi and configured the ports?
