Some of my local M.2 options;

Corsair MP400 - 4TB ... € 549
Corsair MP600 - 4TB ... € 639
Samsung 980 pro - 2TB ... € 389 ... I might still get a Black Friday deal on this one
Samsung 980 pro heatsink - 2TB ... € 439
Samsung 970 EVO plus - 2TB ... € 249

I already have a 970 EVO plus - 2TB and it works great.

Am running a 3950X + X570 Aorus Master rev 1.0 mobo + 128 GB Ripjaws V.
Will be upgrading to a 5950X or the upcoming Ryzen 6000 16/32 core.

Looking for something future proof .. perhaps there is a bottle neck in my current system that does not allow for the true speed of the M.2 disk to be experienced. Maybe the new Threadripper architecture could change that.

4TB would be the safer bet, so any ideas on the MP400 / MP600 / or any other option?

The 970 EVO Plus is a great value. The 980 Pro gets you PCIe 4.0 support, but you'll only get the faster speed if your motherboard supports it.

Unlike in past years, the 970 EVO Plus and 980 Pro now use the same type of NAND, with the same warranty and write durability.

I've only used SSDs from Samsung, Intel, Micron, and Kingston, so I can't provide insight on Corsair.
