Easiest way to program strings with push and pull in the time.

What is the standard way to program orchestral music where there is a lot of rubato?
Do you set the session to a ballpark tempo and then use "timewarp" in the midi editor to speed up and slow down?
I'm in Cubase 9.5 but I imagine the workflow is similar through the different DAWS.

I can't claim I know the easiest way, but I add a tempo track in cubase and draw the tempo changes in. Don't think I've used time warp, that sounds extremely relevant, I need to learn it.

Yes that's what I've been doing. In my (very) limited experience, it seems to be the easiest way.
