Arturia MiniFreak V

The price is great for sure, but for people who tried it, what do you think about the minifreak vst?
I wish i could have some thoughts :)

Got a chance to play with the demo. While it sounds nice, the CPU hit on my system was bigger than Pigments! Like many others, I will wait to see it in the V Collection next time I upgrade. Maybe Arturia will optimize it to play better on my setup by then.

Yeah it's strange in regard to CPU. When I add an instance it instantly shows 14%ish. But going through the process of creating a preset doesn't seem to stress the CPU anymore (or very little) than the initial hit.

Not sure, but the offer said that if you buy v collection 9 before feb. 2, MiniFreak V is included for free. If you bought/upgraded to v9 earlier, I don't know.
I upgraded to V Collection 9 shortly after it came out. MiniFreak cost me $49 dollars two days ago. I don't mind at all; Arturia's pricing/upgrade policy is great, so I'm really cool with the price.

And someone said it was West Coast-like; I think that's really fair in an almost semi-modular way. It sounds great (though I can't compare it to the hardware.) I did one pad patch last night I'm happy with and it seems to click with me. I'm interested in seeing what BC (CC02) leads I can get from it.

I've had it for quite sometime since it came with the hardware MiniFreak and I fo love it. It sounds just like the hardware. If you like the sound of it then it is really great.
I load the demo and i'm really surprised about some sounds. The multimode filter sound great!
thanks for your feedback.

FWIW per a thread on kvr MiniFreak V will not be included as part of V Collection (per Arturia support). So if you're interested in it might be worth buying right now at the intro price.

Having Analog Lab 4-5, and some soundsets, V Collection 9 is in Cart at Acct price, with clear indication that MiniFreak V is included at no additional cost, if not already purchased.

Here are some presets for Minifreak -

I included the bank image. You need to put it into one of the following locations -
PC: C:\ProgramData\Arturia\Shared\images\vc8_images\packs
Mac: Mac HD/Library/Arturia/SHared/images/vc8_images/packs

Inquiring minds want to know (well, at least one inquiring mind, albeit somewhat addled at points):

Can someone answer this question: do MicroFreak presets works in the MiniFreak VST?

Thanks, Rich!

Hey Doc,

There are a bunch of free banks on the Arturia site for MicroFreak, but the banks do not seem to have the correct extension (so they are not dettected by the "Import" function.) Does one change the extension to get them to import?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry - I misread. I figured you were talking about Minifreak patches, and didn’t notice you meant MICROfreak. Those will not be compatible.
