Tom at SF got back to me with this belated reply regarding this request I made:

AIR Studios Reverb Discussion Thread

Tom:
Either are possible; best option out of the two would be rolling back your full Air Studios Reverb plug-in. However as a fix is currently in progress, not long to wait before an update gets released.

Keep me updated if you need any further assistance.

Much better response than " No, I will close the ticket now".

I still dont understand..... call me stupid but in the end he didnt give you a solution. He should have added essentials version to your account as you already have the full version (WHICH IS INCLUDED in the pro version), but he just said either are possible. WHEN?? in two years? So your precious time means nothing to them, lets make him wait... I think the BEST customer service i have experience is with EASTWEST.... spitfire should take some classes from them.

He kind of did. He provided me with the option to roll back to a working version. And as the Essentials version is also busted, this seems like the best option for now. Thank for your support, though.

Isn't it a bit much to take a named Customer support employee's reply and put it out on an Internet forum for discussion?

Imagine if you were the Customer support guy and it was your reply you could see got posted somewhere and then got discussed.

I don't know, I just don't like it.

Dont worry..... we would never have reached this point if it was you helping JTB  Honestly this is just a waste of time with very easy solutions (common sense). Who knows, maybe the new ppl in charge of CS are the same ones working at splice which are two different companies.

I contacted support to get an Essentials licence and the conversation with Jonny (human) went like this:

This sounded like a No. But I followed up with this:

Jonny human didn't get back to me (rude).

So this looks like their policy may have changed regarding the Essentials licence and the ability to download the earlier working version of the Pro version

This is my first experience with SF and I must say for a USD $349 plugin, I'm not impressed. I will probs be getting a refund for AIR and SSO and forget the whole thing. Unless they do these within the next week:

a) Fix the issues with SSO brass patches not loading.
b) Fix AIR Studio Reverb Professional.
c) Provide me with an Essentials licence.
Refund? Did they change their no refund / no returns policy?

Nope, you can get a refund, even after you have downloaded it.

Thanks for showing this, that’s interesting. It’s not part of their current privacy policy (was EULA) post-takeover. The 7 day money back was there on an earlier EULA this year though (check any wayback machine of that link from January this year for example), so may be one of the things that need to be modified somewhere (to either include this in the privacy policy if still something that they offer or to remove it from the product page if it’s no longer offered).

Regardless of what it is though, after 7 days of use you’re probably not going to get anything (I think Kontakt stuff is still no refund after download too)

The difference could be coming from the type of product they are.
Meaning "sample libraries" and a "plugin".

Also, I know how frustrating it is.
We had to wait for months to get the current patch and Spitfire (Paul) stated that one of the reasons it took months was because they were doing extensive testing to avoid any bugs.
But we all know where its at currently.
So while I do appreciate the most recent statement from Spitfire (Harnek), its hard to fully trust them.
Maybe the next patch would have bugs too, or, while they said "very early next year", maybe it'll be delayed and maybe end up waiting half a year or even a year. And even then, maybe it'll still have major issues regardless of delays.

At this point, I'm at the "I'll believe it when I see it" stage.

Hehe it's quite funny actually. I forced the previous version 1.2.2 (or similar) and most things work fine in general but performance just drops dramatically with a couple of instances. Cubase becomes almost unusable even with a few plugins. Everything just slows down to a halt. The timeline cursor is choppy and opening mixer takes a couple of seconds. So that isn't too good.

However when I try 1.3.3 (or whatever latest version is) unloading, exporting audio or similar takes forever but performance when everything is working seems fixed. Cubase acts like normal actually.

So if Spitfire Audio manages to combine the best of the both I think we have something 😅

Let's hope they have something for Christmas coming. I really like Air Reverb but this has been crazy. One plugin manages to just destroy the whole workflow and make Cubase almost unusable.

For me, one instance of the latest version makes VEPro go nuts and freeze completely. I have no previous version to compare it against.
For anything else VEPro has proven to be way more stable with pretty much anything when compared to Cubase. Which is why I offloaded major parts of my template's mix to VEPro. However, insert one instance of Air Reverb Pro and the entire system goes bonkers.

I really wonder what they actually have on their map of things which need to be fixed...

I've been encountering MAJOR issues with Air Reverb Pro, it's causing my Logic Pro (11.2.2) offline exports to hang for several minutes, then fail. I'm on a Mac mini m4 pro on the latest seqouia version. I typically have 10-15 instances of the reverb and it works completely fine in realtime bounce and realtime playback, but offline bounce is completely broken. Even when I scale back to one instance, it's still broken. When I replace with any other reverb plugin, I can export just fine.

I'm glad I haven't updated this plugin for a long time. Still on 1.1.3 (current version is 1.3.4) and it works like a dream.

@Paul Thomson Is there any date or similar for when the update is ready? Not even sure my problems are being fixed but right now I am stuck with either having a plugin that kills performance, or a plugin that has various issues with exporting the audio.

BTW, is the Full and Essentials plugin different? Is Essentials more stable in any way and would be an alternative until this is fixed?
