A one minute cue from a challenge...

So yeah, some composers made a challenge to compose a short piece without audio (blind or rather deaf). Meaning pull down the master fader so your u can't hear what you play in.

It has been a really fun challenge, and I can say, thanks to that EIS training I was able to do that cue here pretty fast with the knowledge and control over how it will sound in the end.

So here it is: as said, blind from start to finish:

Hope you guys like it :)

Nice work, Mat! The Harmonic changes are cool, and the non-chord tones you're using give it a very supple, uneasy feel. The chord changes are classic EIS Book 2, which can generate music very quickly.

From an orchestration standpoint, at about :45 seconds, I would double the active melodic line an octave above in the strings, for increased drama. Simple, yet effective.

I think it was cool you wrote it in without hearing it at all. Again, using EIS, you can ensure that your lines are balanced registrally, and that your harmonies are balanced vertically. And, a cool cue for your library came out of it!
