Does NA2 finally work on Intel iMacs? I have tried once a year on average, and it's a big fail every time. Then I reinstall NA1.
Native Access 2 is currently a big mess for me and for many others. Multiple logins rejections, scanning endlessly for products, download errors, etc. I can't even registred my newest updates from Evolution Series, I get error messages for all products. I bought 2 bundles from Evolution Series this week at NI, and was able to install only 1 library out of more than 30.

Hey Mark, Native Access 2 has worked fine on my Intel Mac for quite some time now, first on Catalina and then on Monterey, for what it’s worth.

Best,

Geoff

Thanks, Geoff, I'm on Ventura, which is my final macOS version for my 2017 iMac as Apple does not support that hardware going forward. I'll give NA2 another try if I have issues with NA1 when installing my upgrades plus the Santur that I am about ready to pay for now.

Is this what you’re looking for?

Best,

Geoff

Thanks, Geoff -- that shows up on Chrome, which I use exclusively for this forum as vi-control doesn't work well for me on other browsers on my iMac. For some reason, that content refuses to show up in Opera, which is my preferred browser on macOS.

Steelpans remain lightly covered (yes, there are two dedicated libraries but they are fairly old by now and not of the same sampling detail as more recent libraries). That in itself is enough to get me to buy into the Tuned Percussion lib (though the loyalty discount is only a few dollars so it's not a super strong incentive; nevertheless, the introductory discount itself is already large and is temporary), if I find examples in the audio demos.

Would it be possible to list the actual instruments in the collections, especially regarding Tuned, which has some stuff moved from the other libraries but does it also have new stuff?
Here is a screenshot from the video regarding the list of individual instruments in the Tuned percussion set. I annotated the image to list where some of the instruments come from. There are 4 (gamelan) instruments from ASIA and 3 instruments from AFRICA World Percussion sets. All the other instruments on the list are new.

Hmmmm, I wish the discount for owning both were a little more than 10%, but Vibraphone, Marimba and Steel Pan among other new additions might be hard to resist regardless.

Is the new standalone Mbira library what was in World Percussion Africa v2.0 and is now in World Percussion Tuned v3.0, or is this an entirely new one?

The existing one was also an Mbira dza Vadzimu in the Zimbabwe tradition (with bottle cap resonators), but I don't recall if it had 24 tines like the standalone library has.

I'm guessing that as it is just over 1 GB vs. 5+ GB that it's not the same sample set as the new standalone library.

The wide range of articulations in the harp look inspiring. Thank you! Is it available for download yet? My Native Access says "add library", not "install"... OUT NOW! 50% OFF PROMO | World Percussion 3.0 | World Strings Harp | World Strings Santur | Evolution Series
I agree with jngnz... you probably need Native Access 2. Here is the link:

https://www.native-instruments.com/en/specials/native-access-2/

Can you please specify which content from Africa and America has moved to Tuned and what is new in Tuned?
Sure thing :) From Africa we moved the two balafons and mbira and from Asia we moved the Gamelan tuned instruments (Bonang, Jenglong, Saron 1/2)
Man does that Harp sound gorgeous
Thanks so much! Working with Emily was amazing! I really wanted to capture the warmth and delicate nature of her playing style. The instrument is a lot of fun to play!

Aside from that (and this is definitely stalling any consideration of buying any of the newbies, except maybe the Persian Santur (not to be confused with the Indian Santoor), for which I think you are the first to make a dedicated single-instrument library), I definitely appreciate the free upgrade to the main legacy instruments in the suite of collections.

Correction: There is one other dedicated Santur library, but it is only a single-instrument library because they haven't yet added its partner instruments -- a mere technicality. It runs on a new HISE-based sampler player that I had not yet heard about, so it's still the case that this new library is probably the only dedicated Santur library that runs on Kontakt.

[ Vagueness above, is to avoid direct mention of competition ]
Sorry for any confusion, there is an instrument list on the product page under features.

Here is a screenshot:

I love playing the Persian Santur through Blackhole! ;)

My studio Mac is an Intel Mac Pro... it works fine for me

I'm so sorry to hear this :( did you reach out to Native Instruments support? This does not sound normal.

To be honest we couldn't really discount it more than 60% off RRP I need to feed the musicians ;)

It is brand new... it has a much more wild sound than the original Mbira. I got blood blisters on my fingers from sampling it! It was worth the pain lol

Thanks for all the info. A few of the libs have less info than others, but all of the info on included instruments is now showing up for me (it didn't at first).

There appears to be a bug on the store site though -- at least in the Opera browser on macOS -- as every time I add a library to my cart, it redundantly re-adds the new Tuned Percussion lib for multiple copies of that one in my cart. Fortunately, I caught it in time, after each add.

No problem always happy to help :) Strange about the bugs... I've never used Opera. Maybe Woocommerce hasn't been optimised for it? I'll have a test. Either-way sorry for the hassle hopefully in time these bugs will get ironed out.

Hey there, looking forward to the instruments you are launching that are “coming soon”. Any plans to sample a Swarmandal one day? :)
Good request. The only ones I am aware of at this time are in a huge super-collection (though well-done) and in an unexpected collection that is fab (again, being obtuse to avoid direct references to other products). No dedicated Swarmandal library that I know of, but I could sure use one!

Actually, there was once a standalone library but it got absorbed into a suite for a non-Kontakt engine (as above). It's fairly authentic but old by now; I'm sure Evolution Series could do a better job.

Thanks Ka00... I'm definitely looking forward to getting everything released. Lots of goodies coming out during May/June. I've never heard of a Swarmandal... I just search it up. It looks cool! I'll keep my eye out and thanks for the suggestion! ;)

I wrote a support ticket, but it’s the week-end, so hopefully they will get back to me early in the week.
I see, I'll keep my fingers crossed they get you sorted out asap. Thanks for your patience and sorry about the inconvenience.

Sans fanfare, there appear to be new instruments in the older collections as well. I am going through the list one by one while waiting eons for Native Access 2 to become usable (Native Access 1 updated itself today and from what I can tell so far is no longer is capable of installing anything not directly managed by Native Instruments themselves; I may have to reboot the computer to see if that helps).

For example, I do not believe the Chinese Lion Drum Set or Lion Cymbal were previously in the Asia collection. I think I've come across a few other newbies as well, such as Cow Bell Set and Timbales in the South America collection (along with a fourth Surdo size), and the Jews Harp and Thunder Tube in the Europe Collection. There may be additions to other instruments that have multiple voicings.

Based on what is in the Ensemble collection (which I do not currently have a use for, but may later), I think these additions may simply be the single instrument sample sets that were pulled together for those ensembles, and thus they enhanced the extant collections, which anyway lost some stuff to the new Tuned Percussion collection so I guess it all balances out in the end.

Ah you spotted the Easter egg ;) Yes even though we did have to move some instruments to tuned we did add some new ones to help. So the new ones are:

Africa: (4 New Instruments)
(1) Bung Bung 1 (Part of the Saba Set)
(2) Bung Bung 2 (Part of the Saba Set)
(3) Chjol (Part of the Saba Set)
(4) Tuggani (Part of the Saba Set)

Asia: (5 New Instruments)
(1) Dan Moi
(2) Lion Cymbal Solo
(3) Lion Drum Solo (Large)
(4) Lion Drum Solo (Medium)
(5) Lion Drum Solo (Small)

Europe: (2 New Instruments)
(1) Jews Harp
(2) Thunder Tube

South America: (4 New Instruments)
(1) Timbale Set
(2) Cow Bell Set (We always need more cowbell!!)
(3) Bongo Set 2 (Lower pitched set compared to the original)
(4) Surdo 4

Are the surdos wood or aluminum? I may have asked this years ago. My ears tell me they are probably wood (using the v2.0 library as reference, as I can't install anything until I resolve the Native Access issue). As I tend to prefer wood (and own two), this is always the library I reach for. I'm guessing the fourth one is lower still than the one in the existing set of low/mid/high, or maybe it's a shallower one (a current trend, especially in Bahia and in Pagode styles), or different material?

I am thrilled by the addition of Vietnamese Dan Moi (which I noticed but forgot to include in my updated message), as it has long been my favorite member of the Jaw Harp family, sounding to my ears like a Talk Box, only more pleasant and easier to work with.
