Feature Requests* for BBC Pro and Core *(Please Read 1st post)

The tone of the strings draws me in every time... and then the legato thumps (sustain pedal doesn't help what I'm hearing....the bass legatos sound like a Marcato patch) and shorts make me want to throw it out the window.

Multitimbral support and a look at the horn and wind tones on some patches (detailed more in other threads)

Nice touch releasing the core version, the smaller more manageable file size made it instantly more useable. With multitimbral I will easily be able to fit it in my work flow.

Thanks for commenting Daniel. I think since you put it through its paces from the start, you have some other things you can add.

The violins 2 spic patch sounds like the instrument is broken compared to the Vin 1. Damn..just noticed that.

It really sounds like there are samples missing.

I noticed this in discovery. The 2nd VLN spicc sounds pretty bad. Some notes sound like a DJ scratching a turntable and some of them sound like pizz.

I was wondering if it had been addressed in PRO, I thought it might have been just because they pitch shifted the samples to keep Discover light.

PS to the BBCSO police i am not here to bash ;)
I'm pretty keen on the product myself but my experience with discover put me off.
I keep an eye on it because it has a really attractive tone.

nope...still there and really bad. Blows my mind how they could have just left it. Not bashing, this is not what the thread is about, but this is a strong suggestions: please fix the shorts across the board on the strings.

I know. I was about to check it out.

I was making a joke. "Playing second fiddle" was a common idiom meaning that somebody is being overshadowed by another doing the same task only in a more glamours light.
Oh I know.. LOL. Glad that it's not just me though.

Hey DJ, have you delved in to it since your first look? It seems they worked on the loading times somewhat. Loads like a dream for me now.

Yeah the core load times are much better. As I mentioned in my videos, the size of the library made it 'too expensive' in memory footprint to put on an SSD in my set up. So I put it on a HDD that runs various other big libraries that all run fine, with BBC being the only one to chug. The smaller core version means I can 'afford' the space to have it on an SSD which definitely loads quicker, I just wish I could understand why equally deep libraries can run fine off of a HDD with fast load times but BBC couldn't. But alas with the faster load times the library has been making a few one off appearances (mostly in melodic perc and strings) but the lack of Multitimbral support means it will never be able to function fully in the way I work. Besides I have many libraries that cover the content many times over, so its functioning as a 'different taste' kinda library right now anyway, so I am not to invested on if it gets an update or not. I just know multitimbral should be there to make it work for me.

New request: Give us the option to give percentages to CC assignments like we can in Kontakt. SO example: I combined dynamics and vibrato to CC1...but they are equal, and I'd like the option to have the dynamics at a higher percentage than vibrato. This also works great for dynamics paired with expression on the same CC...an offset works great.

I had the same thoughts about the strings. I was trying to recreate a classical piece I like and NON of my other strings libraries came even close. Then, I realised that AI's Areia Sustained Con Sordieno patch sounds almost identical - ONLY BETTER.

Hi Jake, did they tell you how to remove the overlay?
no sorry...can't be removed, but you can temporarily disable it if you hold the sustain pedal down...That's what they told me. Or write it into automation so you don't have to worry about it.
