Spitfire Audio : Abbey Road 1 Modular Orchestra - Speculation Thread.

Hi,

Since this is a big speculation thread, I was thinking about the timing of the Spitfire Audio announcement via their social media channels regarding their coming soon Strings Library by Paul T. namely, their upcoming Violins 1 AR1MO Library release.

Do they usually do that if the release is not very close ? i.e. I mean days away, from what I recall, they don't usually do that if it is weeks, or months away, so my guess.. it's a matter of days, maybe a couple of weeks away the most. Especially, given they could have easily teased us with more Perc. instead.

What are your thoughts on this detail ?

Thanks, and happy speculations, and waiting for the upcoming AR1MO Libraries :2thumbs:

Cheers,

My impression was that it's months away rather than days or weeks. If it would be released in a few weeks, I'd guess they do the usual teasing.

I think this video meant to give us some confirmation that the coming year won't be all about percussion releases again. Also, SFA probably knows V1's is one of the most requested sections of the orchestra. And by releasing this they can sort of gauge the popularity of the entire AR1MO.

That's an interesting perspective.

You could be right, they might have released the video, assuring us that the strings are coming, yet getting the pulse of their customers in general, and keeping up the momentum.

So, do you think they might release another Perc. library before Vlns 1 shows up months form now ?

I wouldn't be suprised if they released another perc library first

I could see either happening, or neither because they pivoted to strings and need a few more weeks. They’re all plausible scenarios, and we will find out Thursday!

From spitfire IG:
Abbey Road Glockenspiel!? Or a more alarming thought: Abbey Road Strings Violin 1 Shorts.

Jokes aside, this might be SFA's most important library in some time. It'll set the tone for what we can really expect from Spitfire's next gen sampling experiment. We'll be working with it for years and maybe it's the last big orchestral project Spitfire undertake.

No pressure then..

I didn't really follow the release of Jupiter - can anyone share more information on how that preorder went? How soon after preorder did the library become available and when were tech specs and a walkthrough released? Was there a special discount for people who bought during the preorder period?

Other thoughts.. this certainly gives credence to the "money problems" idea -- and who knows, we could still be months out with just pre-orders starting.

The pre-order discount has got to be huge [aka no-brainer] for this to work for them the way they think.

Perc loyalty should be a factor in price, too. But that hasn't been the case with any of the other perc sets yet, so that's wishful thinking.

As I recall the walkthroughs / full site information were released when pre-orders went live, and that was maybe just a week before the actual release? And then I believe for non-Mercury owners it might have just been a pre-order discount instead of an intro price (or intro only lasted for a week?). For Mercury owners there was a traditional intro discount period.
