Seemed like all the demos I came across were for heavy rock/metal stuff too. Maybe that's where it shines?

No, that's just the largest customer base, but it's also great for crunchy Rock and clean tones. Not long ago they were advertising Hendrix tones.

Downloaded the demo. Shockingly limited selection of available amps and effects to demo. I can't hear anything I want to hear. I'm out.
