What are your favourite or recommended VST plug-ins for mixing?

Do you prefer one brand over another and why? e.g. Waves, UAD, Slate, IK Multimedia, Brainworx? Others?

In your view, are there any real stand out plugins that these companies make?

Any type, e.g., compressors, bus compressors, eq, reverbs, delays, saturation, mastering plugins?

You're going to get a million different answers on this one. I think the truth is that they all make good plugins. You will see professionals use all of the above and more. It just comes down to personal taste, the type and style of music you are producing, what you feel most comfortable with, and your budget. You can get very good deals on plugins if you wait for the sales.

You can't go wrong with FabFilter and iZotope. Waves if you can afford it, but even then it's a bit overkill with all the plugins. Less is more.
