    Hey all!

I once again need your advice and hope you can help, so i am interested in the piano sounds most trailer music have, you know .. the one with over the top reverb .. good examples are Thomas Bergassen's "Final Frontier" or the latest infinity war trailers and also here is a good example -

Now when i try to do this most of my piano samples are either recorded too big and present for this kind of thing (classical piano solo sound) or just not round enough and thin sounding and i just cannot seem to find a mixing technique/reverb technique/Piano library to achieve this kind of sound.

I would love to have any input or recommendations regarding this.

    Thanks!

Any piano will do, it’s all about the reverb. Best for this by a mile is Zynaptiq Adaptiverb. Distant second is AudioDamage Eos 2 with the infinity setting. As for the piano, have a look at that new CinePiano from CineSamples.

    Pretty much.

Use one of the lower dyn layers, add a decent amt of compression, a good amt of verb with a decently long tail, maybe something to give a little edge, like SToys Decap, and add some high strings and/or synth in the range that the piano's pedal note is playing.

    Cheers.

I rather learn how to create that kind of a sound my self, so keep them coming!
I will check them all out.

    Audio Imperia Klavier

It layers with the same piano through mega verbs. Ofcourse you can use this same principle with one of your existing pianos. Also duplicating the piano patch with a piano-y kind of synth with loads of Valhalla Shimmer or Blackhole works well

For all reverb of that type, I use the preset named "Wormhole" in Native Instruments' delay/reverb plugin "Replika". If you have a fairly recent version of "KOMPLETE" or "KOMPLETE ULTIMATE" you might already own it. It's fabulous!

Eventide Blackhole is also great, of course.

THIS is what drives me mad about this forum - people blurting stuff out without first contemplating what they write. Within Dragon go to:

Evolution -> Instruments -> Tonal -> Other -> then you have 3 choices:

    Cold piano
    Trailer Piano 2
    Trailer Piano 3

As my Latin teacher used to say:

    Si tacuisses, philosophus fuisses

Dragon - but when it installs, it installs just as the folder "Evolution" (certainly on my system), hence the folder structure I outlined, but I'll add it to my post, thanks.
