INTRODUCING THE GOSPEL EZX – A JOURNEY IN GOSPEL DRUMS FROM THE ’40S THROUGH TO TODAY.

Toontrack Gospel EZX gives you the power of rhythm and the legacy of a genre whose DNA over the course of history has seeped through to almost any facet of music imaginable, with its versatility and uniqueness. From R&B and soul to rock, hip-hop, fusion and beyond...

With its four fundamentally different sets of tonal characteristics, this EZX covers the entire scope and paints an impressive sonic image – from the open-sounding tones of the early 1940s and the dry, muffled and tight ones of the 1960s to the punchy, distinct and crystal clear sound of today.

Oh man, I just had a listen and this one's killer, and would totally complement the Decades SDX pack as there's no overlap but it also pulls in some classic kits that aren't in that one, providing a pretty full palette together.

I'm not going to get burnt again buying an EZX that eventually has an SDX. It used to be, a more expensive product would come out first, then a cheaper derivative, so a lot of us assumed any new EZX was going to stay just as an EZX pack. No hard feelings; it's easy to re-sell Toontracks stuff.

The recording quality really catches me on this one too. I'm a big lover of Coles 4038 ribbon mics on drum kits when going for a more vintage sound.
