Virtual Instrument Collection €129 | $139

The Chinese Sheng, Laotian Khaen, and Japanese Sho are three very similar instruments with a common ancestor. Traditionally made from bamboo since the 14th century BC. - sound is created by both inhaling and exhaling, as with a western mouth-organ.
Soniccouture have faithfully recreated these fascinating instruments, using innovative inhale / exhale sampling techniques, which allow the user to add natural expression and modulation.

Until 28th February you can get 30% off Sheng Khaen Sho. Discount marked on website. http://www.soniccouture.com/en/products/31-ethnic/g62-sheng-khaen-sho/

Great product at a competitive price. I have a VERY thorough and detailed annotation of sound sources, with careful documenting of regional variants and alternate names, and was quite surprised to find that none of these had yet been covered in a deep library and were barely even covered by catch-all shallow offerings (yet necessary placeholders) such as Garritan World Instruments.

Not mentioned in the product write-up above: Soniccouture did an excellent job of helping the user be aware of natural instrument range and to easily switch between that and extended range coverage. Not all of these were chromatic or even diatonic originally. A lot of historical research went into this library as well. A truly high class offering.
