Shreddage 3 Masterclass Series! Episode 3 Out Now: Palm Mutes, Powerchords + Rhythm Playing

Andrew Aversa

Lead Developer
You asked, we listened! Here is the first episode of our Shreddage 3 masterclass, presented by library developer Nabeel Ansari. The "Novice Unit" episodes cover what S3 instruments can do, how to play them, switch articulations, and adjust the sound, using only essential controls.

Later episodes & units will cover more advanced controls, and illustrate important sequencing/performance techniques using real guitar performance footage.

Episode 1 - The Basics (Novice Unit)

Going forward, we'll use this thread for other episode releases, so stay tuned. Let us know what you think!

Episode 2 - Articulations Pt 1 (Novice Unit)

Episode 2 of our masterclass is out now! This one begins looking at articulations in more detail, starting with the core of lead playing: sustains, hammer/pull, and portamento slides. You'll learn how to best use/sequence these techniques for realism and expression, as well as relevant controls and MIDI CCs to acheive best results.

Episode 3 is now available! This episode explores more crucial articulations like palm mutes, powerchords, and staccato, and demonstrates how all of these techniques (plus those learned in the previous video) can be used to create heavy, realistic rhythm guitar tracks.

This video features plenty of audio examples and included MIDI files so you can follow along, as always!
