Yeah I've seen those at drafting supply stores. They look top-heavy and clunky. The battery-operated kind and an eraser guard are a great combination.

The eraser holders are interchangeable. The erasers themselves don't streak your paper. The eraser guard, about the size of a credit card, makes it possible to erase things that are close to other things you don't want to erase.
