RtpMIDI for windows / issue on connecting IOS-IPAD

Hello everyone,

Could someone help me understand why my iPad (IOS 17.4) is refusing to connect (participants) on my RtpMIDI network.
I’ve installed RtPMIDI Windows (from Tobias Erichsen) (last downloadable edition) on my PC under windows 11

it work’s perfectly when connecting my iphone and PC (using swam trompet on iphone and ipad)
but when trying to connect my IPAD it does not work.

Bonjour is detecting ipad (idpad is appear on directory) but when connecting participants, ipad is grayed and have ??? latency. and have a error message “Ipad do not responding to request connection”

have tested many things without success, and now I don’t know what’s wrong on Ipad parameters..

here’s the tests i have realized :
rebooting ipad + PC
ckecked bonjour is working and correctly installed on PC
ping ipad from PC = ok
disconnecting firewall on windows = nothing change (it seem's to be logical since iphone is connecting on PC)
upgraded my IPAD to IOS 17.4 = nothing change
tring to isolate the problem by connecting ipad and PC just with a ethernet cable and disconnecting wifi = nothing change
-> (i see "Ipad on ethernet" on rtpMidi directory) but when connecting = nothing change , latency = ???
tried to initiate a new cession on RtpMidi = nothing change
activating the log in verbose mode

whe can see in this log that
PC is sending a invitation to Ipad who is responding ok on port 5004
PC is sending a invitation to ipad who is responding ok on port 5005
but suddenly Ipad is shutdown cession, and then PC is shutting down connection

thank's a lot for your help

Hi,
For the connection to be made, RTPmidi must be launched on the PC AND a midi application must be launched on the iPad.
If no midi application is launched on IPAD, it is not detected in RTPmidi on PC.

thank's Herved for you reply,

but yes I known that a midi app must be lauched to be exposed by Bonjour in the RtpMidi directory,
but unfortunatly that's not the issue I meet, it's far more complex.

it seem's to be on IPAD port control witch is closing the connection just after validated it ! (see the log) , and I don't know what to do on ipad (it's not a mac or a PC) to try to understand what's happening bu have no other information on the log (no error, just informational message) RX-CTRL:RTP-MIDI:169.254.211.201:5004:Shutdown:

OK...
A priori, on the iPad, apart from checking that the wifi is on the same network as the PC, there is not much to do.
In case the problem comes from a particular application, have you tried with different applications installed on your iPad?
