    Hi ya'll.

Listening to various cinematic songs, I notice that in the more "epic" parts, if you will, there is usually an almost tacking sound, usually a 16th, that gives some subconscious rhythm to the song. Any libraries that could help provide that driving sound?

Well what you're talking about might be the result of using a low frequency oscillator or LFO. I would say most synths currently have something like that these days and it really comes down to which synth you like the sound of.

"Tacking" meaning what? Percussive? Synth? Staccato strings?

Do you have an audio ex?

    - an example of what I mean. At the end, there's some 16th sound thats drives the rhythm.

If you mean the 16th that start at about 2:30...
A lot of sounds will do... filtered snares that are cut short, distorted hihats or shaker, noise generator in a synth, field recordings cut into chunks, even epic drums with a low cut filter... best way is to have it in a simple sampler with basic synth functions: transposing, filter and volume envelopes... short attack time, no sustain and short decay/release.

Do you have another example? Hard to tell what element you're referring to.... the percussion? The arpeggiated synth? Metals?

Check Heavyocity (Aeon, Gravity, Damage).... should certainly cover what you're talking about.

    Omnisphere (arp pretty much anything).

    Do you have another example?

there are endless possibilities. you can edit your own sounds with a gate, sequencer, delay, etc. ...or you can use advanced synth like omnisphere, zebra2, etc. ... or you can use sample libraries like 8dio aura or blend series ... evolve, aeon and gravity by heavyocity ...project alpha, bravo an chaos by hybride two .... a lot of stuff by sample logic ...and much more.
