Thanks for the heads up. I had planned on skipping this until I saw your video, there are a few good arts that make it a decent deal at $55.
For those that don’t want to use up 32GB on your SSD (mine was 34GB) AND would like things to load faster and play smoother. I suggest using your Kontakt full to compress it to a lean 14.59GB.
First open the oldest version of Kontakt standalone you’d like it to be in. The website says Kontakt 4, but I’m skeptical (could be). I opened it in Kontakt 5.42, but it will open in any version and be forward compatable.
You don’t have to open the patches, under file menu just select “collect samples/batch compress”- pick the source folder (Angel strings) and destination (I created a new folder with “NCW” at the end to tell me this is the compressed version). Then process. The conversion will take a while (maybe 40 minutes here?) but it will do all the work AND resave all the patches, so you don’t even have to do that. Works like a charm, loads fast now, AND saved me about 20GB.
