The deal that was offered on Black Friday was better...
It was $561 for all 8 engines plus 20 expansions. I'll wait for the next sale, thank you.

I have Substance and Movement and can get the upgrade from Output for a little more than this (with expansions). Are they (the expansions) worth it?

Very much so. I’ve become an Output addict. Sound and GUI are among best in class.

No Output so far. Current, affordable NI promo options : Signal, Substance, Analog Strings.
Cannot choose based on 'What I need', 'What am I lacking' …. Mostly GAS purchase to learn what Output is about.

Which of the these (3) 'standout' on their own, and well worth $99.50 ?

Analog Strings for ... (analog) strings.
Signal for moving EDM hits and pads.
    Substance for bass fun.
    In that order.

But I couldn’t live without Exhale. Yet wait for the next 50% off. Or complete your bundle.

In my opinion, Signal is the best, followed by Exhale.

The best way to buy Output is to get the whole set from the website the next time it goes on sale. You'll get all the instruments and expansions, for a nice price. Once you have all of them, updates are very inexpensive. Every time they release a new instrument, you can buy it for a low price, plus all the expansions that have been released in the interim.

I don't know. Also i noticed that the output bundle contains 8 engines, but this offer contains 7, leaving "Movement" out.
So it's really up to what's important to you.

I believe that if you wait until Output releases their next product (they usually do one a year, but last year there were two), you will be able to get everything in the NI deal plus even more expansions than have been released as of today. For not much more money.

Sometimes the NI NKS sales are insanely good--for example, Orchestra Tools. This is not, in my opinion, a good deal at all for an Output package. Depending on who you are, you may lose money on it. There is no reason to buy it unless you only want something like Signal (best price so far) and are sure you want nothing more, including the expansions, which cost $35, I've never seen discounted, and really take their instruments to a new level.

If you like any Output instrument, you're probably going to like all of them, because each one has a very similar user interface. That's part of what is good about them--after you learn one, there's very little learning curve on getting the most out of libraries that have very different sounds.

Think about it this way: if you buy every Native Instruments or IK or Soundtoys or Output product as they are released, you will spend a LOT more than you need to. All of those companies offer an INSANE deal if you buy everything they've got--and often there are sales on that. Of all of the companies I know, Output is by far most generous in supporting their best customers. It's not just because they an amazing deal at the first point of purchase--they give you amazing deals every time they come out with something. The new product at a discounted rate and all the expansions that have been released in the interim.

That said, if people only want Signal, they should just get Signal.

Thanks, I really like all their products but am mainly interested in Rev. I had emailed Output to see what the crossgrade price would be if I bought.

Rev and Signal are probably the two best things they have, at $99 I’m not sure you’ll find a better price (not sure what you mean by crossgrade).

Signal has some great pulses and pads (you can turn off the pulse engine) and Rev has Pads, Rises, Pulses all in reverse, so some pretty unique stuff.

Movement is also cool for making your own pulses out of the instruments you have, but I have found the sound gets a little thin and loses it’s stereo width going through the engine- just because it’s being processed and auto panned. But for sounds like guitars and keys (lots of mid-range) you probably won’t notice it.

The rest seem Meh to me, so buying the bundle is not the best way to go IMHO. I spent $99 for Signal at the last sale, will buy Rev at this one, and paid $79 for movement. Personally I wouldn’t pay beyond that for any of the rest.

I have Substance, Analog Strings & Analog Brass & Winds. I dig them enough that I keep going back when they have sales, coming close with Rev, but never get anything.

What I really want are the expansions to the instruments I have, but they never seem to go on sale outside of the full bundle.

I have Exhale and Movement, so my current upgrade price is $569 for the whole thing. I was thinking of grabbing Analog Stings at $99, but I just ordered Omnisphere and I've barely touched the surface of all the stuff I bought last year. (extra money due to work travel/overtime + no time to play due to same travel/OT + extra money in the budget due to getting rid of money pit rental + a lot of big sales = way too many new sample libraries)

My initial thoughts on Exhale was it wasn't what I thought it would be based on the YouTube videos. I think when it initially was advertised, you could add your own loops to about 4 slots. But they removed that ability before it was released. I was kind of interested in mangling my own vocal loops. I got a bunch of other stuff and haven't really played with it since.

Hesitant re. REV with Sample Fuel Revolution-CRE8 as alternative. Has been $119. and seems to have strong capabilities. Have you seen this from Sample Fuel ?

I have all of their other products, and they have been very responsive to all inquiries.
