Today I visited a new Atmos mix stage in Amsterdam which was some kind of sneak preview (the facility which will open officially next October). I had the pleasure to be able to listen to some fragments and I have to say the very large mix stage sounds very good although it is not completely finished.

Chatting with the owner about the setup, dolby atmos and film music, it is quite clear that atmos gives the re-recording mixer more room for the music due to the full range side, top and back channels. Next to that there a quite some new creative reverb and delay effects possible which were not possible with 5. or 7. at all. I hope to do a test music mix with the atmos setup soon. I need to prepare some ideas though. This is interesting!

Interesting indeed. What is the company?
I'm based in sydney, but follow the amsterdam scene very closely. :)
