My New Video: How to Stop Wasting Time & Actually Write Some Music!

Reid Rosefelt

aka Tiger the Frog
My videos are not aimed at VI:Control maestros with years of music school and deep orchestral training.

They are intended for people like me, with a modest amount of musical knowledge, but who still want to express themselves as best they can.

This video gets into to the idea of K.I.S.S., or "Keep it Simple, Stupid!"

How to take a piece of music to a finish?

1) Choose a few instruments for a template before you write a note (Orchestrate First)
2) Try to keep them in different note ranges to make mixing easier later on.
3) Structure the music like a story, with a beginning, middle, and end. Work this out before you begin writing.

I illustrate these ideas using Sonuscore's new library, VOCAL ETHNIC PHRASES and Native Instruments' DISCOVERY SERIES: MIDDLE EAST
