Making Windows Defender behave on a multipurpose DAW PC.

I wanted to keep Windows Defender alive on my multipurpose PC that I run my DAW on. But an active Defender scan would sometimes cause issues with my DAW and audio interface.

I found how to configure Defender so it doesn't run a scan when I am actively using the PC.

To get started reference https://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-10...scan-schedule-for-windows-defender-antivirus/

Follow the instructions and work your way down to Windows Defender Scheduled Scan.

There may be 3 or more entries.

Select one of them.

Then in the right hand window click Properties.

At the top of the new window click Conditions.

In that window find the Idle section. And click the "Start the task only if the computer is idle for" and configure the idle times.

Repeat for all the other Defender tasks.

This seems to solve my Defender caused interruptions without further input from me.
