Hey!
I'm in the process of picking out a Mac Pro and I'm wondering if anyone can sound off on the choices I'm looking at.
My budget can accommodate for either, a 6 core mac pro with full 126gb RAM upgrade and a 1tb SSD or an 8 core with 64gbs of ram and a 500gb internal SSD. (I use external SSD's for samples and pretty actively archive projects so am not super worried about harddrive space at this junction).
My understanding is that the 6 core has slightly faster individual cores which get close to covering the gap between it and the slightly slower 8 cores (and vice versa 8 to 12 though that has a larger leap).
My needs are that the rig can handle a decent size template for sequencing in Logic and mixing Pro Tools.
Thanks!
Addendum, hadn't seen the new Mac Mini's so thats looking like an option.
