Perseverance Records has launched their new REDUX campaign for James Horner’s The Hand and The Dresser. Two world premiere re-recordings of the complete original scores side by side, made possible by you.
With your help, we will be recording archive works from the legendary composer’s catalogue. This started with a very happy meeting of minds between the Horner Estate, Perseverance Records and other key individuals which share our enthusiasm to realize this special project. An album of complete new recordings of scores to the films The Hand (1981) & The Dresser (1983). These collectively give insight to the composer’s early years in the industry.
Among the key people involved in the project, which is supported and endorsed by the Horner Estate and the composer’s widow Sara, are orchestrator Nikiforos Chrysoloras, blaster beam inventor Craig Huxley, pianist Gloria Cheng and conductor, orchestrator & arranger Matt Dunkley. The music will be recorded at Smecky Studios with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra over a period of 4-5 days, under the supervision of Chrysoloras.
This campaign offers Horner fans that rare opportunity of being involved in making the end product happen. Along with options that bring some unique goodies & extra participation, the intent will always be to educate & entertain with our updates.
