How quick can musicians take on/off mutes?

Hi!
How fast can a musician take on/off a mute on their instrument? What about brass players? Do they need different amount of time, depending on the type of mute?

And can string players remove or put on sordinos without making too much noise? How long time do they need?

I have been googling a lot to find the answear, but I cant find it anywhere.

Thanks!

Brass players, 2 measures at 120 bpm for trumpet, horn, and trombone. Euphonium 4 measures, and Tuba 8 measures.

about 6 seconds minimum for string players. Maybe 1 second less if the mute is put on between two pizzicato passages (because the right hand is already in a good shape to put on the mute and return quickly to playing pizzicato). It does make a small rustling sound similar to turning pages but it's not loud.

It also depends on how quiet the passage is. They usually will take greater care for not making noise if the passage in in PP or lower.
