"Expedition Odyssey" - A Film Score Suite

Hey everyone! Let's go on an Expedition! 🌄

It's the perfect time of year, so I decided to write this adventurous film score suite to capture the spirit of exploration and discovery! This track was incredibly fun to compose, as I imagined vast landscapes and a thrilling journey through the skies!

I drew inspiration from some of my favorite composers like John Powell, John Williams, and Stravinsky, who create so much wonder and excitement in their music!

I hope this piece takes you on an epic adventure in your wildest imaginations! Enjoy the track!

And as always, feel free to give some feedback as I'm sure it'll help me grow as a composer :)

Special thanks to my best friend @Bara Matahari Pagi for encouraging me to take on this project!

Great writing and programming, I loved this! It would be cool to see a walkthrough/breakdown of the piece.
Really appreciate it a ton!! Pacific and SSW were definitely a challenge to program here, so I'm glad it turned out great! I'll see if I can breakdown some of the parts/orchestration choices soon! (Example could be the Star Wars section, where the Woodwinds are playing a 4:3 polyrhythm figure!)

I really like the composition and orchestration here. I would like to see more dynamics used in the piece though, it's an adventure but it sounds that everything stays pretty low in the dynamics. It would breath a better in my opinion if there would be some moments with forte included.

Thank you, Hanu! Don't worry, I wrote this with an intended "sound profile" in mind, which was a more "Concert"/traditional Orchestra sound you'd hear from an in-person performance. I can assure you there are many moments where it does reach forte and beyond, it just doesn't get into a "blow-your-ears-off" level because I wanted to keep a warm, balanced sound in the ensemble! Thank you for the feedback and kind words though, I truly do appreciate it! I'll definitely keep the recommendation in mind for the future!

Anthony, this is more than wonderful, imaginative and very heartfelt.
Unique and I can imagine a great adventure film with this score.
The orchestration is beautifully crafted, and this tells a wonderful story though music. And surely it brings us energy and motivation to compose.
Congratulations for sharing your work.

Thank you so much!!! You have no idea how much it means to hear this, especially from someone I lookup to! I appreciate it tons! :)

Hi Anthony, this is great - very well done! I enjoyed the contrast between the different sections and the warm, rich sound you created. I agree with Hanu's point about the dynamics, I felt it could be even more exciting with a bit more dynamic variation. (Totally understand that you didn't want to go into 'blow your ears off' territory, though!). Looking forward to hearing more of your work and any walkthroughs you decide to do 🎵

Thank you so much!!! I agree too, on second thought, I may have made the low brass a bit too tame haha, but I’m glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate the kind words! :)
