Hi, all!

Happy Monday! Thought I'd post an assignment I did for Craig last week. I'm shifting from "drill pieces" to full on library and film cues, and this is a noir-y piece, inspired by (of course) maestro J Barry! :)

I got a bit gnarly in the middle, but I was trying to experiment as well as write a piece. I like the writing... LASS is good, but I'm still having trouble with the nasal-y part of it.

Here you go... any feedback on the comp or mix is greatly appreciated. Thanks, and have a great day! :)

(and, because my daughter asked me to post this)... o=?

The assignment on page 339 is to use pretty much anything in the course that you've learned up to that point. You've written a very nice tonal piece here.

I'd like to hear another piece from you that's more adventurous; that bends the harmonic framework a bit. How about some chromatically related chords?

HAH!! Argh, my mistake... this is a cut from an upcoming sci-fi album I'm doing. Yes, it's SUPER tonal. And, also a lot of EIS.

But it's not the one I was supposed to play. I accidentally copied the wrong box link. Heh. :) Here is the ACTUAL film noir'y piece. My apologies. :)

Here, try this one. This is more John Barry. And, there are a lot more gestures from Book 7 in this one! :)

Thank you for the kind words, I am having a lot of fun writing in this course!

I'll post a new clip next week, it's from my studio's upcoming game, kind of a nervous, flute and pizz strings thingy... with lots of Double and triple leading tones!!

Have a great week!
