Do you run your DAW while downloading large files?

I'm getting ready to download a large library - not sure what the exact download size is, but installed, it will be about 45GB. Just wondered if you all run your DAWs or other programs while downloading large files. Generally, I don't, but in this case, I'm guessing it will take more than an overnight session to download everything, so I'm wondering if I can use my computer while the library files are downloading.

In my case, the computer to which I'm downloading is a slave computer (PC) on which I have VE Pro and a lot of libraries. My specs: Windows 7 Pro, Intel Core i7-3770K, Quad core 8 MB 77W, 32 GB RAM.

sure the system should handle the rather "slow" download and it related system load while storing the download to disk.

My DAW PC is offline, so I download from the web PC. But yeah, it should be fine. I shut things down to install, to run executables, but merely downloading should give you nothing to worry about.

Always running, but I do download to a separate drive and move them to sample drives later.

I remember when the first consumer dual core processors were released and Intel had those ridiculous commercials where they showed users bragging about how they could write a document, rip a CD, and download a file all at the same time!

Yes. There is no need to not download at the same time as using your DAW. Drives are fast enough, and the CPU overheads low.
