Do we actually still need to <install> libraries for K5 / K6?

I re-installed Windows on my machine and this time, I didn't start with the whole sample installation procedure (did it in the past and it took me DAYS and always freaked me out). Now, I just kept all the content on my sample drives and re-located the stuff with Native Access. Is there anything important missing by doing that? Like some settings in AppData, Registry, etc...? Anything that speaks against this procedure?

EDIT: Well, something didn't work. Kontakt 4 doesn't find any libraries and you can't add them, either. I guess that's because K5 and K6 rely on a different authorization system.

I believe that for Kontakt 4 you have to use Native Instruments Service Center to install player libraries and then I think you can see them in Kontakt 4 with the option to authorize from within the player. Maybe someone else can confirm?
I just went through this with KU11 but that was all through Native Access so I can't quite remember the old way of doing things before I upgraded from K9

Can't you just enter in the Key into Native Access, browse to lib location then click on install?
Since you already have the libraries installed on your sample drive it should only take a couple of moments per library to authorize.

Maybe I'm mis-remembering but when I moved my sample drives to use on my new computer I think I did all the reauthorization for K4 & K5 via Native Access...

Yeah, this all works for K5 and K6 but my K4 library tab is empty. And when I want to add Symphobia it says that no library was found... duh

Well, I solved it. The issue indeed is, that >K5 needs NICNT to authorize a library.
But K4 rely on NKC. These files were replaced on my drive long ago apparently. So K4 couldn't identify the libraries anymore. I had to fire up my backup drives to temporarily put the NKCs in the library folder and add the library. Jesus christ NI!!!!

Also Symphobia has had updates and has a K5 compatible version.
Following blurb from their web site.

The 1.6 Edition of Symphobia 1, released around Christmas 2017, offers a brand-new sul tasto string section. Recorded in multiple dynamics, starting at a whispering ppp, these sul tastos can be played as a full ensemble or per section. 1.6 also adds over 16 new features, including improved control over articulation switching, articulation locking and round robin. Last but not least, you will find numerous new and inspiring Multis to experiment with. As always, this 9 GB* update is 100% free for all existing Symphobia 1 users!
