Any instruments similar to the hammered dulcimer?

I LOVE the hammered dulcimer and have been using it in a work. However, it's not very easy to find so I've been looking for instruments that have a similar feeling and sound. And I already know of the Cimbalom, Santur, Psaltery, Zither and Guzheng, but I'm hoping to find an instrument that is a bit more common than these.

ps. not looking for samples.

Hammered Dulcimer is often referred to as a Zither. Although you will find at least a few kinds of Zither instruments that sound and play very differently to a hammered dulcimer (see "Third Man Theme"). You could always resort to a whack load of reverb like Brian Eno did to get different take on a hammered dulcimer.

Terry Riley's Rainbow in Curved Air has always reminded me of the kind of kinetic dance play feel that you get off of a hammered dulcimer. Interesting launchpad for idea generation.
