I'm trying to decide if I want either Forzo or Novo. I really like the sound of Forzo, but I don't think I need it, and I find the Heavyocity hybrid engine stuff difficult to work with in practice (though it sounds nice). I've also liked the icy, hard modernist edge of Novo but again wondering if I want it. If I don't get one of those, I'll almost certainly pick up Rhythmic Textures. Ah, decisions, decisions.

I know these are all player instruments, are these for Kontakt 6 now rather than 5? I just don't want to mess my system up whilst 5.81 is working okay and I'm mid-project...

same here...exact same boat. I love the modern edge to both Forso and Novo, but still wonder how much of an 'all arounder' it would be for more traditional cues. Guess i'll be researching. Woulda been really slick if i could have stacked the Essentials upgrade offer on Novo, but I doubt it.

I will likely at least pick up RT, I have enjoyed IT.

Don't 'need' Synthetic Strings but likely gonna get it.
GAS can be a little fun … right ?
I love the sound too, I just can't personally justify the need. I feel like Omni or one of the other Synths I have could probably pull this off. Again though, I absolutely love the sound.

U hit nail on the head :crying: As longtime Omni user, with many cool 3rd Pty libs, this is likely covered already ………. maybe not as convenient as HO_SS. Will hold 'til Thurs to see what SFA releases. :whistling:

Yeah, I checked it out. The NI deal is better than the Essentials upgrade deal.

Would like to get NOVO, but it is still in the out of the no-brainer buy, but not in the heck no, I would never spend that much on a library that wasn't actual individual instruments point.

Have to think about it.

Forzo works in Kontakt 5.8.1 (with all the NKS bells and whistles) and that's the latest one - so the rest should be fine.

Great thanks (suspected this, but know they sometimes update libraries to a later version with their NKS deals). It's not a problem either way, just got confused as some libraries (eg. Forzo/Synthetic Strings) say they run on 5.8.1, but then the Kontakt Player and system requirements links take you to a Kontakt 6 page.

I bought RT yesterday and had a very short and cursory play-through. Some of the articulations didn't produce a sound, Kontakt telling me that they were purged. But the interface didn't show them as being purged. It's probably just me and I will look into it a bit more today, but maybe someone else has run into it as well.

The problem with these constant sales IMO: When I see this offer I keep thinking ... hmmm ... when is there gonna be that bundle sale of all heaviocity stuff at 80% off ...? Next year?
All of these sales take away the feeling of getting a good deal with a sale ... the next better deal might not be far away. I can only think of one company who kept up with a (almost) no special deals reputation and that was Orchestral Tools ... that was probably a lucrative decision, as they could both profit from the people paying full prices and jump on any early bird offers and later cash on a big sale. Lucrative, but it took away the last doubt, that you should never believe a company claiming they won't do extreme sales.

That is why, in the past, I used to make decisions based on what is a good moment to get something I wanna have. Today, I only buy stuff which I think I really need (almost never happens when you really have a lot of libraries, except for a specific job). For everything else I basically wait until it is at least 3 years on the market, cause I am likely to get it for a fraction of the original price. Once more people get aware of that scheme and act accordingly, that cannot be good for the market of sample libraries ...
This deal would have been one that I would have jumped on, as I would be interested in some of the libraries there (although I do not NEED any for real). So, I guess, the good part is I am almost healed from GAS! :) I rather buy more expensive hardware (FX or Synths). Those devices give me the same tax break as the libraries would but actually keep a value and are parts that I can sell, if I would need money ...
