There aren't Platinum and Diamond versions of the same libraries.
For example, EastWest Symphonic Orchestra Platinum Plus is a completely different product than EastWest Hollywood Orchestra Diamond. That is, they are not different versions or upgrades of the same product. And there's no such thing as EastWest Hollywood Orchestra Platinum.
Generally speaking, the Diamond products are all newer than the Platinum and Platinum Plus products, but that doesn't strictly make them better. Using the choirs as an example, there are some people here who have preferred the older Symphonic Choirs product for some use cases over the newer Hollywood Choirs release.
If your question is instead "Which is their latest orchestra release?" then you should be looking at Hollywood Orchestra Diamond (or Gold, which is basically like Diamond but with fewer mics). That's the one that is getting a new version/upgrade called Opus Edition. It is unknown if buying now and upgrading later will be cheaper than buying Opus outright.
I understand, I failed at reading comprehension. Thanks for the education. I went ahead and went with composer cloud plus, so I get both and opus when it gets here.
I'm interested in Hollywood Choirs, but not in a rush to grab one.
Is the current price as good as it gets?
I think there was another deal not too long ago with some extra discount, which I managed to miss.
Hollywood Choirs Diamond is currently at the lowest price ever.
It was 60% off in November but the regular price was $799 then. Now that EastWest has dropped the regular price to $599, the current 50% discount is better than the previous 60% discount.
I‘m interested in Hollywood Orchestral Percussion Diamond for traditional orchestral percussion sounds (no processed hybrid booms and hits or epic drums like Damage 2).
Does this library suit my needs?
