1865 meets 2024

I found this in an old house, bought it thinking I would restore….. not me. I stripped it down to a frame and after losing about 500 lbs, it is now my desk. Just in the process of laying things out for functionality. Tuning my room is next. This was one side of my workshop.

Cool idea. Did you consider keeping the original legs, or was the height not suitable?

Tried to, but they were splitting after all these years. The threads were still intact.

Looks great, a pity you couldn’t rescue the legs. I think I would have retained the wood finish instead of black though.

Black and white monitors, black and white keys…my contractor asked the same. The wood was beautiful, but after I had to lose the legs, I went with the industrial look. I am not a commercial studio, just me. I will think about Abe Lincoln occasionally. Maybe he played it.
