    How low are we talking? I tend to high-pass almost everything that's not supposed to have low end. I.e. 95% of my tracks in any given project. CineWinds drives me nuts with this. Lots of unnecessary low end in those samples.

    Thanks everyone! Great tips here. I do have that CineSamples one. I've used it sparingly in the past, but as I recall I could hear a pretty distinct loop point. Near the beginning of that sample is the sound of a mute dropping or chair moving or something that is pretty identifiable.

    Yeah. Generally speaking anything below 80 goes to the sub. That's about the point where I like to start pulling it into the middle. Cellos and basses have so many harmonics reaching up into the "hundreds" of Hz that you can still get a nice wide stereo sound, but with a nice focused bottom end.

    For a long time in my mixes I've been using it to pull the bass more center. Low frequencies in stereo always seem to cause funny problems. Once you get that pulled into the middle, you tend to reach for that high pass filter a little less.

    Same here. Cubase Expression Maps make it real easy to accomplish a 1 instrument per track template. However, if you need more granular control over mixing (I.e. you mix short articulations different than legato), you may want things more separated.

    Yeah! Ties were really pissing me off for a while! That, and ledger lines. It took the longest to get those right. Sometimes I would write those notes on the staff and then drag them up or down the ledger lines.
