Importing from Notation to DAW Softwares

I do this all the time from Dorico/Sibelius to Logic, and Logic to Dorico/Sibelius. It will be some to do in terms of getting the details like dynamics and articulations to work the way you want it to be with your sample library of choice. Most libraries treat such things differently. In...

    Composer Cloud Free Trial?

$25 is like two beers in Norway. Maybe three. Well worth the cash for a shitload of instruments that works quite well. I run a 2011 iMac 3,4 GHz Intel Core i7 with 16GB of ram, streaming from a pegasus R6 12TB Thunderbolt drive. Only time I had trouble was when i was composing with Hollywood...

2017 MBP 15" with Logic for large libraries?

Not a single library is to big, it is only a matter of how many instruments you can store in RAM. After a certain threshold it is a matter of freezing tracks. Works fine.

2017 MBP 15" with Logic for large libraries?

I have the new one and it is powerful enough for anything you can throw at it - CPU is not the limitation, as long as you have a fast SSD drive, perhaps externally, to hold your libraries you can come a long way. The bottleneck is the RAM. With 16GB you also can't have a large template, there...

    Christian's Free Triple Felt Piano

Sure, it opens fine in my EXS but Kontakt should be able to open EXS files. At least pr the manual (p.113)

No need to caps lock it, bro! I am running macOS 10.12.6, latest Kontakt 5 and it crashes here as well.

EXS Mod Matrix - that middle thing called "Via" and other extras...

Yes, EXS is more efficient than Kontakt in many ways because it is less loaded with "features". And no, it does not have scripting capabilities of Kontakt so it is impossible to port libraries from Kontakt 100%. Then again, many users here have "portet" part of libraries they like to EXS.

Compress Video to smaller size to load into PTHD

I would get them to send something manageable. If you are on a mac consider buying apples Compressor. Quite cheap and very powerful. There you can easily set what quality you want for both video and audio.

Stuttering video with Logic Pro X and Samsung Ultra HD TV

Just for the heck of it, read this and see if it helps. The sRGB allegedly "alleviates the overall macOS system video computing pressure to your GPU and boosts up the entire video performance of your system."

    Soundcloud/octave.is alternatives?

Guys and gals, i'm in need of advice. I need a place to host my music for clients, portfolios, web and whatnot. I've used Soundcloud but jumped ship a couple of years ago. I've tried Octave.is which seemed really promising but are pretty much unmanageable when you a have any amount of tracks...

    Soundcloud -- BEWARE

I jumped to octave.is for easy and proffesional sharing and bandcamp for a public front and/or commercial stuff. Bandcamp terms states as follows: Am I signing over the rights to my music, home and firstborn? No. The only rights we take are the obvious ones we need to run the service. For...

Pump / Reed Organ Kontakt Library Recommendations ?

I have several harmoniums at home. I love the damn thing. I have Langegard's and it is brilliant - however, i recently tried VSL's harmonium and it is the best damn thing i have ever heard. The amount of control, playabillity and sheer auditiv lushness is simple *there*, right in the pocket.

    Template approach..

I am a firm believer that less is more. Working with restraints makes me focus on the music and to that end I have a main template with my trusty Korg Kronos X acting the piano, a Nord Lead 1, a mikrophone and a full strings patch loaded up.

    Mac OS Dark Mode methods?

To rectify my eye-tiredness I got myself 1) glasses with a yellow tinge (which works wonders while driving as well) and 2) i use Flux. I happen to use Logic X and things are pretty dark as it is and when i code Lilypond and Latex i use a Solarized theme.

Film composers - what video editing software do you use?

    String library for pop productions?

Thank you for your time! For the common good: Would you (and anybody using LASS/DS) mind sharing dry/wet snippets of LASS/DS in action? I havent found much "real world", good quality examples of LASS, nor DS for that matter.

    String library for pop productions?

Thank you all for suggestions. It seems to boil down to either DS or LASS for me: I need the flexibility and want sonorous quality they offer. String library for pop productions?

Hi guys, I'm about to do the strings arrangement for a pop music CD and the producer has asked if i could program the strings to save some on the budget. I said: Sure. And now i have to find a string library that fits the bill. I already have HW strings gold but they are to large for this...

How do you approach writing idiomatically?

Thank you for the advice. Well thought out and probably usefull for everybody here. How do you approach writing idiomatically?

Hey guys, After watching a youtube clip showing Lang Lang and Hans Zimmer working on "Kung Fu Panda 3" I came to think about idiomatic part writing and engraving. Logic keeps bouncing separate 96k file

    Lemur iOS/TouchOSC and Eastwest
