Suite from Jaws - The Shark Theme by John Williams - Mockup - All VSL Synchron Series

Wonderful mock-up, well done @Zedcars - this score is so much more than just two notes... I think Jaws 2 is an arguably even stronger score - but might just be me. :)

How can I obtain the VST2 version of Kontakt?

Good luck getting this resolved! I found some older legacy installers here - v6.6.1 should do the trick - but this is only for Player version not the full version of Kontakt (it should give you a VST2/DLL version to test/play around with)...

Spring Savings are Here! | Up to 50% Off!

Can anyone confirm what the minimum version of Kontakt required for the Legacy update is? I'm stuck on a VST2 set-up at the moment so I don't want to update Legacy if it requires a version of Kontakt which is beyond v6.7.1.
  4. S

How can I obtain the VST2 version of Kontakt?

I don't think the VST2 version of Kontakt has existed beyond version 6.7.1 (or thereabouts) - so to get the VST2/dll version you'd need to install this or an earlier version to get the dll version. I'm guessing there may be some legacy installers kicking around on the Native Instrument site...

My 2 cents on Entering Competitions

Fair point - others clearly are getting something from it and that's fine. Competitions are all very subjective anyway - so it's important to know why you are entering whatever the medium. I have my own experiences having organised or entered numerous art competitions across all three mediums...

My 2 cents on Entering Competitions

I can't comment on music competitions, but I can comment as a film festival director + I've also run several photo competitions like you. Almost nobody is going to read the entry rules unless they are super-short (and even then they often don't). How often have you ticked "accept T&C' because...

    Kontakt 7 Flickers

Yes, I don't know this is specifically a Mac/QT issue as it happens on my non-QuickTime Windows 10 install. K6 works absolutely fine, K7 - the darker background flickers which is distracting and headache inducing after a short period. I use K6 wherever possible as a result.

The Oscar nominations for Academy Awards 2024

It's probably well documented that I'm not a fan of the Academy at all. They should have taken out Ken's Barbie song to be taken even remotely seriously. Seems somewhat ironic that the Academy celebrates Ken (both the song and actor) over Barbie (both the lead and director) - the Academy is...

    Spitfire business things

Short Action Cue (HOOPUS, VSL, Sequis, Zebra2)

Orchestration wise - I really liked this. That said if you wanted a constructive comment - I found the mix too "reverby" for my tastes being an action cue and reckon it would benefit from a sharper/tighter/closer sound mix.

Can't answer this for sure - I haven't installed traditionally for the K6.7.1/6.8 reasons mentioned above. That said I took a look at the installer and decompressed the files from it - just out of curiosity. There is no new "sample" data I could spot - it was mostly of nki, nksn, nkm and ogg...

The Orchestra Complete 3 and Woods of the Wild Released

@davidson I haven't installed it as I want to keep the last VST2 version of Kontakt 6 running for use in an older DAW which I sometimes - the upgrade says it needs K6.8 - so this is a no go for me. @SONUSCORE can answer this better than me - but I'm guessing the 3GB size will be down to new...

Yes, I got in pretty early and they honoured it (thanks Embertone) - I didn't know it was a glitch at the time - but it didn't seem an unfair price being as I already owned Friedlander and Blakus. Sad you missed out @QuiteAlright - but I'd still say they are still worth getting for the price...

I know this isn't really your area of expertise @EvilDragon - but as you know the most about NI things on the forum - I don't suppose you have any further information about legitimately registered libraries in K6 which have now been de-registered? It's not an isolated case - there is a thread...

Same - I can no longer see these libraries in either version even though I had registered versions installed. According Good news! I think Loot Audio which is the platform which distributes/sell Lux Violin will be reducing it back to the original Intro price from 17 Nov - 5 Dec (or at least that's what their sales spreadsheet is saying).
  25. S

Do you know what is the legal way to have or buy Kontakt 6.7.1?

Yes, I upgraded so have both versions. As long as you have an original Kontakt 6 registration code - you should still be able to download the older Kontakt version. That said I suspect Native Access will update you to the last update (6.7.1).
  26. S

Do you know what is the legal way to have or buy Kontakt 6.7.1?

Initial impressions: liking the Polyphonic Legato + the nice smooth dynamic range, sus-to-flutter is 🔥. Nice to have combos, ensembles, solo instruments (both regular and mute/stopped). Afflatus Brass? - Strezov "The Adventure Continues"

Afflatus Brass? - Strezov "The Adventure Continues"

I really hope so, I only saw the announcement video? This seems more workhorse than the strings. I meant by keeping the cross-grade price in place after four weeks, rather than reducing the pricing. I appreciate Sonuscore have their hands are tied at the moment - they won't want to alienate customers who have already paid (even if I personaly feel somewhat alienated by the cross-grade...

I can't see much in K7 which really excites me over what we already have in K6 to be perfectly honest. The fact K7 now only runs as a vst3 is a big issue because I love the dark ages and still get a sadistic thrill using a ridiculously antiquated DAW (Cakewalk Sonar X2) which doesn't support...

Odd! I have no issue with the downloader, that's great - it's just the uncompressing side which is painful. It's naturally more pronounced on bigger libraries with lots of small files. The fact I can un-compress so much quicker with WinRAR manually (minutes rather than hours) - suggests the...

Sonuscore The Orchestra Complete vs HOOPUS.

I don't find the samples on TOC that bad either - they have a grit about them which I like - even if they don't have the same level of detail or polish as HOOPUS. Sonuscore The Orchestra Complete vs HOOPUS.

I have both, and I like both. Both have their place...
