Big sound, layering is good way to get thick fat sounds.
Use saturation plug-ins - Soundtoys Decapitator, Fab Filter Saturn etc to give some grit to your sounds.
Plus all that’s said by using various reverbs and EQ to help build your mix.

Anyway other way to buy your ebook? Pdf is fine too :)
Finished scoring music for an international movie (China) with some HZ Strings and practically i earned back 3 to 7x of what i have paid for HZ Strings. My next movie scoring will involve tons of HZ Strings :)

Like Muziksculp, i would like to know if its worth spending $600 :)
Could you kindly reworking Arcade with HZ Strings first and Dunkirk later? I think we all are waiting for a faster pace track than all of the demos posted here. This will really help us to make our decision to buy or not to buy in the next 2 days.
According to a youtube video
Da Vincci Code was recorded with 60 players hence saying none of other libraries can do is kinda out of place and “ONLY” HZS can.
Epic, nah..not at all..just BIG but good BIG :)
Perhaps you can do a faster pace track like this:
@The Darris
How do you combine all the HZS sections to make them 344 players and i reckon it would tons of GB to do so? And articulation wise, not all sections have the same art?
I think we should save ourselves from this agony ahaha. This string library is not epic or bombastic and no longer the old HZ style we are so accustomed to. It’s HZ Dunkirk style from now onwards, wide and immersive. No more big drums and crazy fast string lines.
Just posting this so we know what HZ Strings is all about from the man himself.
So this is not an ‘All-Purpose’ string library. It’s an “immersive" string library, not a bombastic string library.
From the video, the shorts on the violins are good (but still slightly sloppy) but the cello and basses are not that good. Metropolis Ark 1 shorts for example are much more actiony :)
So we can conclude that HZ Strings is good at doing atmospheric (immersive) sounds like Dunkirk etc but can’t do stuff action or driven strings type of styles?
@SpitfireSupport
Am interested in buying HZ String but i do have a question.
Was mentioned on the FAQ that we can install HZ Strings on another computer. Can you kindly share with us the how to. Thanks
Tons of users here using VEP and yup, DAW no longer gets crunched up with CPU overloads etc.
As for template, no longer use them. Just choose what is appropriate for the project/movie cues and mix as i go along in VEP 6 :)

Ya..i do like it and it has definitely speed up my work.
Do give Emulator 2 a spin and see if you like it. Note that Emulator 2 does not have any manual and we need to fiddle around to know the functions which takes time to learn and youtube has a few tutorials with limited infos.
So far, 3...
Select “Reset mouse cursor after a gesture action ends” via the UDPP Gestures Settings.
Also you can “Hide mouse cursor during touches” via the TUIO Settings and UDPP Gestures so that every time you touch the screen, the cursor is not shown.
Cool..have fun.
Btw, since you use Cubase, another touch software you can consider is Dtouch @ https://www.deviltechnologies.com/index.php/dtouch-for-cubase-v1
Yes, pinch, zoom, swipe all works. Just configure it to your liking :)
Take note that you you can’t fully use the 10 points multi touch with our DAW. The only application that allow us to fully use all 10 points multitouch is Emulator 2.
Yes, get the touch base driver. I ordered the driver for T272HL via Dawkeys but it did not work and it was version 5 (dated) driver.
So they sent me T272HUL driver (version 6) instead and got it working.
I use Acustica Audio plug-ins which some here extremely disliked them due to heavy CPU usage, latency etc.
I use the Nebula 4 (3rd party libraries) SSL 9000K or the AMS 88RS Consoles with Softube Tape on all instruments. Workhorse EQ, Console 1 9K series and Acustica Audio Acqua Lime C...

Good day everyone,
Just wanted to ask if any Logic users have the surround plugin in the plugin listing? I have reinstalled the latest ve pro 6 and also tried older installers and none has the surround plugin installed. With Ve Pro 5, the surround plugin shows up in the plugin list.
Is there...
I had it to the lowest angle most of the time.
Since i have the touchscreen, i went with Emulator 2 because i did not want to spend money to buy an iPad or Android box and working on a bigger screen helps (bigger fonts etc)

Bought an Acer 27” touchscreen with touch-base driver 2 weeks ago and recently bought Touch Innovation Emulator 2 app to do all the CC stuff for Logic. Still mapping out the Logic commands and it does help to speed up workflow.

Looks pretty useful for those who has a trackpad :)
Features:
Four controller modes: Mixer, Trigger, Scale and XY.
User configurable preferences settings.
Compatible with several DAWs (see requirements).
Compatible with MacBooks, Magic Trackpads 1 and 2.

Jono, did you buy the Acer T272HL yet? I just bought one and also bought the touch-base driver.
Studio One multitouch works but Logic and Ve pro but just only single touch. There’s a Mac app called Emulator2 where we can have multitouch with Ve pro or any DAW via CC etc. Probably not as good as...

Also, u can set it to automatically clean up once the memory drops below a certain amount.
Currently using Softube Console 1 with SSL 9000K for all EQ works.
Compressors, i use Acustica Audio Acqua Lime, Compressor C which is a 8051 5.1 Surround Compressor/Limiter and just 1-2db compression to glue everything together.
More likely around 200-300Hz for EDM and making them mono.
Read Luca Pretolesi’s interview "So what are you doing to make things 300Hz and below mono?” @ https://modernmixing.com/blog/2015/04/06/psychology-of-a-mix-engineer-luca-pretolesi/
Just echoing what has been mentioned, the best is to listen to tons & tons of EDM music from Dash Berlin, W&W, Armin, Martin Garrix.
Also, side chain is used on lots of EDM tunes and getting good VI synth like Spire or Sylenth1 helps too.

You can make your custom template and set it to 24/48kHz. Then in General > Project Handling "Create New Project Using Default Template" and select your custom template. Done..all new projects start in 24/48 :)
Try using just one reverb plug with 2.1-2.4 secs Hall verb and use the Abby Road EQ trick to smooth the verb out.
For action cues with percussions, synths + orchestral, i'll use 2 verbs (Hall for orchestral and plate for synth + percussions)
Another thing i learn is to time the verb length...
You're allowed to sell them individually :)

Price the individual plug-ins at a lower price, i bet you will have more sales.
Try the free Acqua plugs @ https://www.acustica-audio.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=297
These few tools is enough to give you the "mojo" that you need.
Do demo the rest of the Acqua plugins (30 days trial) as they all provide different colours :)
Am really happy with the 12 core but even with this much core, i have issues using heavy V.I's in Logic Pro with CPU overloads etc. This is without Ve Pro.
Then i learn about Ve Pro and wow..everything took a big leap and i can use as many as i want without having to worry about CPU overloads...
Using on one machine with Logic + Ve Pro made a huge change in my workflow.
Even tho i have a 12 core machine, Logic can't handle as many V.I's like Ve Pro does. It made a huge performance leap for me. I reckon getting a PC slave with the latest i7 CPU, 64GB Ram and SSD will take it to a whole...
Best is to watch some tutorials on how to use compressors :)
Mixing With Compression - The Recording Revolution Method To Getting Better Mixes With Compression
Multiband compressors, best not to use them until you have a full understanding on how to use the compressor well.
Cheers
You can reduce the reverb by using the Valhalla mix knob and blend the reverb to the flute. If you want to EQ your reverb, try the Abbey Road EQ trick and see if that works :)
Handing compression is much better and some said it sounded better than N3. Faster loading of presets, you're able to use Acqua plugs in N4, stacking of EQ presets will come soon, the core engine and CPU usage has gotten better too.
I read that AA will not be upgrading N3 anymore and will put...
I do lot's of EDM and did not find it useful while Diamond seems to fit better.
For orchestral , i got Lime and N4 with AlexB MFC covered.
Btw, Diamond is out and just purchased hehehe.
Best you don't hahaha. Save up for some hardwares :)
Leave it to those who are crazy enough to give their money to Acustica.
Btw, the next upcoming Diamond EQ has the best high shelf among all Acqua plugs (all the way up from 15 to 50K) and cost around 150 euro more or less. Launching...

VSR S24 is really one of best reverb i've purchased and everyone should demo it. A great review here @ https://www.gearslutz.com/board/reviews/1139024-relab-vsr-s24.html
Yup..have been using Spire for a long time and my main go to synth for EDM next to Zebra.
Some fantastic default presets and tons of 3rd party presets to play around :)
@John Rodd ..i read your post on FB. I did demo both VSS3 and Relab VSR S24. Like the S24 more :)
Did you demo the Relab VSR S24? How does it compare to your System 6000 hardware?
Yes..is a bug. As long your start point is before 1 1 1 1, the region will snap a bar later. So best is to start your projects at 1 1 1 1 and it will work fine :)
