Dirac Live (as a plug-in) is a premium option for speakers correction. Better than Sonarworks (used to own both). Speaking of headphones correction - with semi-open design I prefer not to use correction at all. While used to have individual calibration profile for Sonarworks for closed-back...
Well, yes and no. I am a bit biased towards what have now. If I were going with HD490 - I would have praising their comfort, price and level of details in both lows and highs to make better mix decisions.
One day I might get a switch. It is just so when had both I tend to use Neumanns less due...
Pads do a make a noticeable change in sound. And I settled on producer’ pads for softer bass and may be or may be not even a bit less exaggerated highs (some might call it flat, but there were way too much of them for me).
Prefer to have a cable on left side too - but was annoyed more with non...
Used to own both for a month. Wrote my first impression on GS. Was thinking to stick to HD490 and sell NDH30. But returned HD490 (because I could), and somehow have decided to stay with slightly more premium Neumanns (look & feel). There a bit details in “low lows” in HD490 (someone mentioned...
Was eyeing Joshua Bell Violin as well. Not sure if I need it now.
Also was thinking of getting Arturia Fragments and sell FX Collection since it is the only thing that I keep installed from it...
Thanks for your thoughts!
The IK specs for MixBox says:
Mac® (64-bits)
Minimal: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor, 4 GB of RAM (8 GB suggested), macOS 10.10 or newer.
Supported Plug-in formats (64-bit): Audio Units, VST 2, VST 3, AAX.
I have had my Core 2 Duo equipped Mac Mini and Mac Book Pro in...
I understand your point. I just wanted to share that there's a small but serious issue with the software. It's like saying a car is mostly good, but it might have a big problem sometimes. I think people should know about this risk before they decide to use it. Thanks for your thoughts!
Thanks Cap! I am absolutely aware what system I am running and how.
iZotope stuff (I have and use many of their stuff) could be resource hog (requires longer buffer but that's it), but it doesn't crash or do noise burst.
The other plug-in that was lead to channel in Cubase to overload (and...
It is waste of time really. It is like buying something for very cheap and then expecting it to be of the premium quality and hope for the best service. I mean over years working with audio software (20+) - I have been in contact with many vendor's support, was pointing out on bugs, proposing...
If software has a 0.0001% chance produce 0dBFS noise burst that could in theory lead to hearing loss, damaging equipment or having an issue on a daily job (used to work on TV - imagine put a exported piece with 0dbfs on air...) - then I have an absolutely legitimate reason to warn others...
This session' export was failing every 4-th/5-th time due to 1 or 2 instances of MixBox. So I would rather stop using crappy plug-ins than upgrade rather powerful and decent system.
Good for you. But I have zero issues with Fabfilter, Softube, PA, UADx, Soundtoys, ToneProjects, Arturia, Liquid Sonics, Relab Acustica Audio. And know what, IK go to hell with the issues I have had - really bottom of the list amongst others.
I would like to warn everyone that it is a noise fest with loudest noise burst you’ve ever experienced. Even had trouble exporting with it - like every 4-th or 5-th project export went out with square parts in random part of track. So this pretty much a red line and I would never ever use it again.
Does anyone haven't updated it yet or may be have back up for v1.0?
I upgraded through Native Access, but due to stack in OSX Catalina (Mac Pro 2012) - the latest version of Kontakt 7 required (while v1.0 was working on the K7 that is running on Catalina).
Support wasn't able to solve it - help!
My biggest acquisition this Black Friday was Berlin Woodwinds for Kontakt. Don't care much about Sine cross-grade fee later on, but it really feels like 2 woodwinds libraries in one: Legacy and Revive - sounds so different and so distinct on their own (even with just my noodling with legato...
The cheapest price for Olafur Chamber Evolutions I have seen so far. May be I should snatch it this time.. Is anyone still find use for it after all those years?
Don't take it seriously.
I just want to be sure that if I will trade my kidney for money - there will be something left for other BF deals and products will be released on December.
I feel ya. Also purchased half of plug-ins separately since they gone native route and spend 1.5-2 as much as you. And this is how I decided to move forward:
There are 2 plug-ins Sound City Studios and Capitol Chambers that I am interested in, but just 2 of them will cost me more than making a...

Yes, but well we went too far with abletonizing.. Well-played though :2thumbs:
So far digging the 2-nd color - bluish-grey. To me it has slightly better contrast and section separation on my display.
And good news for me that it works under Catalina (starts and loads project etc.).
No need to update my Mac Pro 2012 at least until v14 (I hope). Woo-hoo!
A few years ago, I purchased my first semi-modular synth - the Pittsburgh SV-1b alongside Bjooks' Patch & Tweak book to gently onboard myself into the world of modular synths. Despite my overall excitement, the tones of capabilities, and the really, really great sound it produced, it quickly...
Hi everyone,
I used to be hooked on music production on iOS several years ago. I had apps like Cubasis, Auria, TouchOsc, Cubase iC Pro, and a variety of ios synthesizers and effects, also have had Duet for second display needs. However, I eventually lost interest and haven't used it ever since...
I could try to look to Ample Sound Banjo - it is great sounding banjo overall and with some tweaking you could program some fast chord rhythm patterns with it. However, it is neither out of the box Dixieland sounding nor aiming to be.
See the example attached (exposed it sounds midi-ish by all...
Another vote for UVI Scratch lib - got decent results long time ago with it (starting from 0:32).
It worth mentioning that I played it from keyboard with a lot of pitch bend movements captured for a better authenticity and didn't quantized it (did couple midi takes and edited them manually).
I could offer you VSL Big Bang Orchestra: Andromeda & Dorado if you don't have them yet — this is old listing (now closed, but I still have A+D):

Updated Space II - it feels much smoother now (previously there were some delays and glitches in UI). But anyone else has noticed that “ts/stereo” leds are broken now - so no matter what preset is being used only “stereo” led is active?
Thank you, but with iLok fee of $50 for a transfer of more than 2 licenses - I will earn very little, and if I will sell/exchange any of Eventide license separately - have almost zero chance to gain anything at all.
LiquidSonics Cinematic Rooms Professional - SOLD
Eventide Blackhole
Eventide ShimmerVerb
Eventide SP2016 Reverb
+ Eventide Precision Time Align as a bonus
- Eventide Quadravox as a bonus (update: unfortunately Quadravox is NFR)
- SOLD for the above Eventide plug-ins (iLok transfer and PayPal...
I am sure the price was for A+D. But parting with S+O even for 152€ (with ridiculously high transfer fee) is hard. So I decided to keep on owning all 4 libs. Sorry for the hassle. Might need to delete the topic.
I think if upper range could chase the note that is playing then it will do sweep down - simulating what trumpet/saxophone or keyboard players do occasionally. But it seems that it is good for what it was built for, but above goes a bit beyond its capabilities.
Congrats with another great release!
Quick question - could it be configured to do scale sweep downs from and to the note at the end of phrases: eg. like in typical electric organ performances with sweep to the note before the phrase starts or sweep down from the last note after the phrase ends?
Thank for letting us now.
I was hesitating for a long time to move on from there. But now the time has come - portfolio now clean as sky in summer morning (and contain very small message to Envato :))

I might have the same feeling, but at least I am glad not to pay or maintain extra dsp cards.
Hope they will make it better with the time, and wish to see some more native stuff to chose from - some is uber boring, while some like AMS is extremely exciting.
Is it the same for ilok cloud and and ilok key authorisation? I also do prefer cpu efficient plug-ins, but with UAD I already lowered my hopes in trade of expected quality (same for Hitsville - I didn’t consider even to think of using it on every channel).
Well, I don't want to say that Repro is not analog sounding at alll or doesn't represent quality of Prophet 5. I am not dare enough to say the latter since I don't have currently any hardware synths (and played Prophet only in the shop).
But I fired up both emus side by side - selected preset 35...
To me Repro-5 sounds like a good VA, and Model 80 like a "true" analogue synth (same goes to Model 72 and 84 for me personally).
Someone mentioned it somewhere (before that was thinking that I am alone), but going through the list of effected presets both in Arturia and U-he synths sometimes...
I also like EZ3 a lot - enjoying playing it on e-drums and really digging the dry room and its driest snare, but I would not expect a new palette of sounds in the genres you have mentioned from the expansions above (even though I must admit neither I was checking nor considering).
What I have...
Sorry for a late reply. I have activated it on hw iLok dongle and it is indeed loading UA connect every time I am loading it into the daw (regardless being online or offline). But good news is that quiting it while being offline doesn’t affect perpetual UA plug-ins functionality (even though it...
Got Waterfall B3 as my first native UA plug-in/instrument. Needless to say it sounds damn impressive.
Now need to retire Arturia B-3 that I have never been impressed with (apart from other electro organs in V Collection which are fine).
@DSmolken haven’t you ever seen street musicians playing on tuned bottles - I mean even short percussive samples could be tuned (not to say about snares, toms etc.). I also have been watching once a process of tuning real handpan with nothing but tuner and hammer - with the result being all 3...
You could also try to check what your hear with your ears on Ircam Labs Snail. It is polyphonic tuner that could be helpful and even used for tuning of drum skins (did it myself when had travel drum kit).
Until it is too late for this thread - would like to share WIP of song cover by Muse feat. manually played Solaria. It is rare example of the track that I wish someone else had made so when it is finished it is truly make its way straight to my playlist :)
Actually there is a way to avoid re-save (I am on Mojave and symbolic links are working for me) and it has been discussed here:
https://vi-control.net/community/threads/kontakt-libraries-external-storage-filepath-question.104888/
Great that have found this topic. Is there any way to do that as elegantly for non Player libraries?
Have just relocated my non Kontakt Player libraries to new disk called Data with the folder structure being exactly the same. But in every single project they will be always pointing to the old...
I am sure you want it to be universal, but being honest - if it could sound like that I won't ever consider it. Since all what I am looking for - is soul/funk flute not classical one, and there is no single other product (I mean any other instrument) that could be equally great (best in...
NI AbbeyRoad Vintage and 50's Drummers both have brushes.
Moonkit as mentioned above - even though they are a bit modern sounding to me for the lack of the better word.
Straight Ahead! Samples Jazz Drums has brushes and paired with their Bongos & Congos could form a nice drum/perc trio. Also...
Sounds lovely. Can't wait to hear Light as a Flutist demo since there is a huge gap in jazz flute libraries. So I have high hopes for it, and wish it to become the one to rule them all.
SEO wizard detected.
I think you should offer them your services including on-site optimisation as well as keyword research, link building and position tracking (there are great SaaS for that). And the most pleasant part is that you don't need to ask money for that - who needs money when you can...
Well, the list is based on some business presentation template that no longer available for sale (have just checked it). So I think even Google Docs will work especially if you would like to list VIs and sample libraries.
You are welcome.
Another hint would be to make a nice looking categorized list of your plug-ins collection and check it before any potential purchase: too much in certain category means usually that you are in collector mode rather than in practitioner mode.
Been using Weiss Deess too, but decided not to keep it (there is something making it sounds very artificial at extreme settings). In my book Soothe and Gullfoss could do a surprisingly good job as de-essers (as well as Sonnox Dynamic EQ), but I also have Softube Eli Lil FrEQ with really pleasant...
I went from Softube Weiss DS1 to Unisum, and while Weiss is really-really great I am hardly want to go back. It has it is own sound for sure, but latency was always a bummer.
So glad to be in Unisum and FF Pro-L2 camp now.
Just purchased EZX Big Band (have been thinking before going EZD3 to go to SD3 route for just Decades and Hansa, but glad I didn’t) - so November is already good month for me & Toontrack :)
And since summer I could not stop using Sun Drums snares with EZD3 main room kit with e-drums. Hard to...
I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised how awesome they are. Tbh I also tried to resist till the last moment - but now I can say now with all the confidence that I would have regret if would not get them.
I jumped into the train while having SWAM Saxophones and all I can say is anyone who have been hesitating about getting them should have them (or both): the are so different and so complimentary. Also SWAM Saxes are keeper since they so agile and could sound very-very realistic (looking at you V...
To answer message below: I was not aware of 14 days rule, and was updating the thread on weekly cadence as you could see. But thanks for the heads up - will be following your advice and general rules.
Furthermore @Technostica you could get an extra -15$ personal discount for AS Collection just...
Thank you.
I get it. But then I assume that it wasn't sampled note by note, and portamentos are done over some fixed pitch sample. If so then it is in my opinion the case where actual synths or modelled synths might have an edge over samples.
