    ProjectSam - Lineage Percussion (SampleTalk)

I was interested in the dynamic layers of Lineage Percussion - this has helped a little. Its indeed different for every instrument: Seems Gran Cassa and Snare Ensemble got 10 dynamic layers, TomTom and SysCymbals have 7, Piatti, RotoTom and Congas 4.
  4. H

ProjectSAM Lineage Percussion for Kontakt and Kontakt Player

Yes, I would also be interested in the number of velocity layers especially, as the lack thereof is one of my pain points with Berlin Percussion (minus the Timpani which is splendid).

    Scoreclub and Mike Verta's Masterclasses

When I did my first steps into composing land I did start out with Mike's classes - at least partially because of the low price point. In retrospective I don't think that was a wise choice. Indeed the classes are not very structured, and for a beginner they do not show a clear path for how to...

The Variable Delay Compensator (v1.6): Another multi script for CSS...but for any others, too!

Hey Chuck, There's two things odd: The track delay for CSB should be the same as the longest possible delay that CSB produces - and that would be 230 ms for the legato articulation (for anything but the trumpets). So you having 285 ms instead tells me there's something incorrectly set up. What...

The Variable Delay Compensator (v1.6): Another multi script for CSS...but for any others, too!

Ah okay, got it! Then I'll create some sort of spreadsheet that lists the meaning of the individual settings in case I need them.

The Variable Delay Compensator (v1.6): Another multi script for CSS...but for any others, too!

Thanks a lot kpmuzik for creating this script - makes it so much easier to work with the CS series especially! My only tiny little problem is that for me it is hard to keep track of what the algorithms and conditions are actually there for after a while. Is there any possibility to maybe give...

Strings and Woodwinds with Trills/multiple-note-tremolos greater than a maj2nd?

Ah true, I entirely forgot that I even complained about those in the oboes lately. o_O It seems the sound quality is a bit dependent on the specific notes played - guess how good it sounds very much depends on the finger acrobatics needed to pull these off. Went straight ahead and...

Strings and Woodwinds with Trills/multiple-note-tremolos greater than a maj2nd?

Thanks for the tip! I've checked on their website - at least for SSS they only seem to have sampled min3rd and maj3rd trills for 1st violins and cellos, but not for 2nd violins or violas. Which... is kinda strange. 2nd violins one could fake I guess. Violas not so much. Strange decision IMO.

Strings and Woodwinds with Trills/multiple-note-tremolos greater than a maj2nd?

Hey guys! Does anyone of you know libraries that offer trills/multiple-note-tremolos that span more than a maj 2nd, with a nice dynamic range? Mainly strings and woodwinds. I come across these things pretty often in scores, and so far I have nothing really I can use for this in sample libraries...

Disappointed in Orchestral Tools Berlin Series Main Collections

@OP That's my experience too - whenever I try to give these libraries another go, in barely 5 minutes I've found the first issues - both with the Sine player and the samples. And no, none of this will ever get fixed. I've complained lately in another thred about issues with Oboe 1 - turns out...

OT Berlin WW Bundle vs CSS WW BF Sales

True, sounds again like multiple articulations playing at once, just like the mess at certain CC values when they also overlap. I've also just noticed that these trills go up to a perfect 5th in Legacy, but in Revive and Sine only to a 4th. And are really only usable up to a 3rd. Gotta admit...

OT Berlin WW Bundle vs CSS WW BF Sales

I was just trying to give Sine another chance. Downloaded BS and BWW - under pains, because the download was stopping constantly and then nothing happened for 10 minutes or so. How reliable is REAPER for MIDI work?

I've read time and time again about all these missing MIDI features that require people to install dozens or hundreds of scripts or even write those themselves. NotePerformer 4 Expectations or Wishes

Gotta agree here - the NP3 version to me sounds way better. The one with NP4/VSL has some weirdness going on in the low register pretty near the beginning already (around 00:20). The lead instruments sound fine, but a lot of the background/bass stuff sounds rather messy to my ears.

Orchestral Tools: Everything You Need to Know

Main thing I like about OT is their a la carte system - I think that is quite a unique feature, and I will probably make use of this in the future when I need just one instrument out of a larger collection for some project of mine. In general I am not a big fan though and prefer to use other...

Mattia Chiappa Fantastic Course : Shows you how to turn a simple tune into a variety of film cue styles

I got the course and - while it definitely is not a bad course at all - I found it overprized for the content (and sadly partially the quality) that I got. Orchestration Recipes 3: tour up now

I like the new Recipes edition a lot so far, but I absolutely do agree with the doubts about the piano roll. I have no idea how people can follow what is going on there harmonically - it's just so much harder to actually understand what's happening compared to sheet music. So maybe worth a...

Orchestral Tools: Berlin Series on SINE now!

I was a good bit excited about these news, hoping for some improvements done in the libraries. But unfortunately I have to agree here. On top of the wonky legatos that I tried, I find the lack of quality control in the Berlin libraries mind blowing for products that are marketed (and usually...

Help! Reaper Freezes when Saving Project (Slow Saves)

I always had a similar problem - my old template with about 100 tracks took at least half a minute to save. Drove me nuts. The Reason behind pops, clicks and crackles in your DAW workstation which in part is partially remedied by Vep7

In my experience - using VEP7 locally - using VEP very much increased the occurence of clicks and pops compared to me running my Kontakt instances in Reaper directly. I had to increase my audio device buffers significantly after going to VEP, to make it still work. So no, in my experience at...

Cubase vs Reaper for composing. Is the grass greener?

Cubase vs Reaper for composing. Is the grass greener?

Just tried your Disabling script with my orchestral template. I've got around 65 disabled tracks in my template. It seems strange, but if it changed anything then I'm now having a higher CPU load than before using the old way. Not sure why that is. It's kinda hard to say though, as the load...

Cubase vs Reaper for composing. Is the grass greener?

The vi-c blinded violins shootout - FINAL UPDATE.

Hey Garry, another question! :) I only just noticed that all files are named 'Legato test'. Does that mean we are only supposed to use the legato/sustain articulations? At least for a couple of notes in phrase C I'd have used a staccato one.
