To my uneducated taste this is (roughly but) sufficiently covered by SCS, spiced with Evolutions, Tundra and Lab's Henson's, Permafrost & Scary Strings. Lucky me, no must-buy for now ;)

Spitfire Symphony Orchestra IS HERE - introducing MASSE

The three colors is a red herring to let us believe it is about symphonic bundles. My take: It's Albions-in-a-box

    Native Instruments orchestral content?

The artics of the essentials do not have the time stretching feature meaning, two simultaneously played notes take different length. Renders the artics quite useless, methinks. However, the product page shows that the full Symphony Series do not suffer that restriction.

    Native Instruments orchestral content?

I own the essentials as part of K11u. Some of the articulations have a timing problem. For me a no-go. Whether this is true for the real thing, I don't know. Soundwise I prefer Spitfire.

Spitfire Audio - Happy Christmas - REMEMBER, to fill your WISHLIST!!!

Logging into my SF account in order to fill my whishlist also gave me the opportunity to have a look at my order history - which came as a shock. SF, you really should hide that nasty order history - it's not good for business ;) Thanks for the codes and merry christmas to the SF team, but...

Spitfire Audio - SSW - Spitfire Symphonic Woodwinds - New IN ACTION video from Oliver.

Spitfire Audio - SSW - Spitfire Symphonic Woodwinds - New IN ACTION video from Oliver.

After being dragged into SSS, SSB, SWW and SQ (by all means, BF is cruel) I'm especially attracted to SWW. While meeting 'daddy' SSS is pure functional and feels like bread & butter, managing his diva daughter SQ and her clumsy brother SSB is a harder job to do. But playing with SWW is...

Speaking of vast emptiness in templates, there's such a thing regarding Solo Strings. I wonder why SSB and WW do have solo instruments, but SSS and SCS don't. And here I am brooding over the question whether Sacconi Quartett blends into the realm of SSS/SCS because they're recorded elsewhere...

    Spitfire Woodwinds question

Yeah, double checked the assertions the website makes regarding mics - they are quite ... different. Claims from "coming soon" to "available early 2015". Wrong place to point out, but it's possible SA let it slip out of hands - usually the're performing much better.

    Spitfire Woodwinds question

Thanks for your insights. Indeed, I hope, SA is repackaging their WW modules into a SWW package. OTOH the WW modules only contain CTAO mics as far as my research is right. Thus, it doesn't make sense to create a "CTA" core (as happened with SSB, SCS and SSS) and a "O" extension ... Came up with...

    Spitfire Woodwinds question

Currently the BML Woodwinds (flute consort, additional flutes, reeds & low reeds, low winds) are tagged with a "volume 1" label. Which gives the impression that Spitfire is planning to produce "volume 2" in the future. Did they ever communicate this somewhere?
